chicagocoma13 Posted April 6, 2005 Posted April 6, 2005 An equally amazing and disturbing movie. Arguably the greatest rock movie of all time. Make sure it is 4:20 when you watch it----- Quote

chicagocoma13 Posted April 6, 2005 Posted April 6, 2005 You will be glad you don't do drugs after seeing The Wall. It is still a great movie. You don't have to do drugs to like it. It was directed by Alan Parker who did many great films. Angel Heart is my personal favorite. I will still watch it at 4:20 however------ Quote

White_Mouse Posted April 6, 2005 Posted April 6, 2005 I have seen it both normal and high and I really don't see any difference. That movie is a masterpiece, that's for sure. Great metaphors, and also very, very trippy. Quote
murray_TH Posted April 6, 2005 Posted April 6, 2005 I think it's a great movie. The animation is tremendous and the music's excellent. I do agree that it's probably the ultimate in Roger Waters self indulgence, however, that only serves to add more enjoyment to it all.Still haven't bought the DVD and I lent someone the video and the guitar tabs book I had a while back and haven't seen them since! I've watched it so many times in the past that I won't watch it again for years now anyway. Great film. Quote

stevGNR666 Posted April 7, 2005 Author Posted April 7, 2005 thanks for all the feedback...the overall philosophy/theme is interesting as well:that we're all fascists in some ways and we have to find ways to deal with it and also to learn from this story by not bottling it up inside, hence "the wall"i thought it was also kinda sad, the story itself QUOTE (SpUd_Jr @ Apr 7 2005, 10:35 PM) QUOTE (kevdo242 @ Apr 7 2005, 08:47 AM) I need to get a Pink Floyd album. Jochen Posted April 8, 2005 Posted April 8, 2005 I think the movie's good, I like how they included the song What Shall We Do Now? Quote
Rumin Posted April 8, 2005 Posted April 8, 2005 I don't understand why people say that you have to be on drugs to get this movie. It's not hard to grasp on to. A man builds his own 'wall' against society, who he feels has screwed him a lot by taking his father from him in World War II, having his wife cheat on him, and having an uncaring mother. He then discovers that life behind the Wall isn't like he thought and tries to tear it down.Personally, I love this movie. I have watched it dozens of times and have never got tired of it. The visuals, the story, the music, everything is just great! Phenomenal movie, especially if you are like me and enjoy movies that defy the usual plot standards. Quote
