Carne_asaDA
Can't take credit for this but i feel the same way........ have had mixed feelings about the entire new member/ex member thing for quite some time now, and now I see the truth revealed plain as day....GUNS n' ROSES is a BEAST...it isn't just a band...it is a legacy...it is in fact a legitimate contemporary social discourse...the mere mentioning of the band brings certain images to one's head...and one man, Axl Rose decided at some point in the previous years to take this BEAST OF BURDEN upon his lone shoulders....yes he and the former members could never see eye to eye on certain things, and it led to an entire new cast....with a leader who had grown accustomed to other people...you see this is the part where Axl was led astray, and this is where he made one huge mistake......amidst the bickering, amidst the seemed BURDEN OF THE BEAST......he had UNDERESTIMATED THE SIGNIFICANCE AND CONTRIBUTORY NATURE OF ONE D U F F, S L A S H, and others....while their viewpoints might have differed they were still a team....and where Axl found weaknesses, the others found strengths, and vice versa....in all of the madness, they compensated for eaxh others faults, to create a cohesive unit, the greatest band in the world......and today, sadly, Axl looks around while he is on stage and doesn't feel that bond that was once felt...amidst the turmoil, the egos, the infighting, they were still five or six guys, who conquered the world...TOGETHER...from a shitty little apartment on Gardner St to Arenas.......Axl looks around him on stage and doesn't feel the electricity that he once felt....simply put...HE FEELS LIKE HE IS DOING IT ALL ALONE...he doesn't know who these guys are...that statement may sound strange but it is true....they are not his ROAD DOGS of old....they are hired musicians.....so sadly, Axl feels an attachment to a past that he usually dreads....as shocking as it is, he needs those guys, he can't live without them in THE PERFORMANCE WORLD..........am I making any predictions, no......I will end with this....when S l a s h was asked back in the summer how he thought axl's thing would go...he said"I think if the project doesn't go well, or if the album doesn't go over, he'll get the old guys back.".....hopefully the album will go over and hopefully I will get to see them in January...HOPEFULLY....thank you for reading. -55555

Carne_asaDA
while he may GET ALONG better with these guys, and they may be more CORDIAL to one another...there isn't that QUANTITY X that existed with the old band....that thing you can't put into words........think about it....for some of you that are a little older...think about the span of your life and the people that matter to you...reflect on your youth...isn't it your friends and partners of old...that give you the most support when you reflect upon them....the guys who who fought the fight with FIRST........but while they might have fought a lot and their egos might have clashed constantly...they came together when they were YOUNG...and achieved the impossible....two hicks from Indiana, two guys from around 55555's way, and a punk rock car thief from Seattle....SIMPLY MAGIC......D u f f said a coule of years back..."YOU KNOW WHAT THE BAD PART IS, IT'S THAT WE'VE NEVER ALL GOT TOGETHER AND BEEN LIKE, HOLY SHIT LOOK WHAT WE DID. AND THAT'S FUCKED UP." -5555s
rockerman
Speak the word da illest speak the word!!! That quanity X is what everybody has been wrangling over for years now. In this months issue of metal edge is a BOGUS review of the Las Vegas show that I found to be exactly what I hoped would happen when this tour began. The writter describes the resurrection of the old band through the show in Vegas check it out...your right on da illest keep it up!
bobhatesgnrnow
i dont know if anyone else remembers this but I compare the new GNR to Aerosmith of the late 70s early 80s, with Rick Dufay and Jimmy Crespo replacing legendary guitarists Brad whitford and Joe Perry. Rock in a Hard Place (the album without Perry/Whitford) plain sucked. I dont know if the new guns album will suck, but if its anything like aerosmith, it doesnt look good. Mr_Sparkle
call slash??? hahahahahahahahahahhahaha lmao what a joke... Slash is going to stop riots? Uhh, that is the most rediculous thing I have ever heard... If anything, he will caue MORE riots since Axl obviously hates him, and that would make an unhappy Axl, therefore causing him to cancel more shows cause Slash pisses him off. Duffan
Yea It's the X factor , the explosivness on stage that the old members had , and that's something that can't be replaced no matter how great the new players are .
