brownstone91 Posted December 6, 2002 Posted December 6, 2002 yea i was there sitting in the 6th row of the 8th section on the floor and at about 11:15 all hell broke loose. the girl sitting behind me got nailed with a beer cup, the entire floor section was destroyed and people were throwing chairs and chair cushions from the top level and one kid got nailed in the head with one. as far as i know there was a few fights and a couple of arrests. compared to vancouver this "riot" was s.h.i.t. cops were everywhere outside threatening people with their batons, there were many attempts to throw video games from the top balcony onto the concourse.... needless to say it was the perfect time to get blazed and many people took advantage of the situation like this 50 year old guy that pretty much yanked a blount out of this kids hand took a huge hit while his wife was yelling at him. one guy went and filed a complaint because somebody jumped him outside. otherwise it was a great concert... cky was actually a hell of a lot better than i thought they would be.... mixmaster mike was ok for about 15 minutes but he played for almost 2 hours and was finally booed off the stage. it was funny to see all the people flip out when the concert did not take place as if they expected something different. all the ushers were gone by the time the first chair was thrown. the funny thing is that each of the opening acts repeated saying "here's some good news, axl is here." meanwhile the ushers were saying thats a lie up until 11:15 axl was still in new york and there were many rumours that he was in attendance at the knicks game. oh well guess ill wait til sunday unless that concert is cancelled too. they said we can call in tomorow and get new tickets to the rescheduled show... yea that will definitely never take place. later
jeremy0675 Posted December 6, 2002 Posted December 6, 2002 i just left the show what a sorry bunch of losers, guns n roses suck, this is what i've been waiting 10 years for? axl should stop what a fucking asshole. all this money and time for nothing. we didn't even get an announcement. shit started flying everywhere. i was down on the floor section 106a behind all the bullshit, when beer and bottles started flying. people where ripping the seats out and throwing them a fire was set what a beautiful fucking seen. i hope your happy axl fucking rose. i got out while i could never again will i even attempt another show. and there suppose to be playing sunday night at the spectrum. well i vented a little bit.
chrisuletz Posted December 6, 2002 Posted December 6, 2002 knowing axl's habits, we arrived there around 10pm. i guess the organizers already knew he wasnt gonna play, because the arena was surrounded by hundreds of police, and they had just stopped selling beer. i guess we left at the right (safe) moment, when glasses and ice and other stuff started being thrown from the upper level, before the chairs started to come.it's a shame, that at only his second sell-out he doesn't show (we drove 1 1/2 h from nj to see him). and maybe his new nickname should be as*h0le rose, not axl.
darat Posted December 6, 2002 Posted December 6, 2002 Well, heres what is going on noow..Security guard calle dup 610, he escorted the band to the bus, no Axl.Axl was NOT at the knicks game, the rangers had a home game tonight. He wasnt at FU Center either though.THIS SUCKSI am so pissed, if i dont see GnR i will die..
gernm18 Posted December 6, 2002 Posted December 6, 2002 i guess axl doesn't care too much about the fans >i guess slash, izzy, duff and the other guys are like : fuckin axl he never learns or what!i love axl but why he has to do that i'm not angry i'm just sad about axl :-[ :'(
jbg8 Posted December 6, 2002 Posted December 6, 2002 I just got back from the Philly show. What a disappointment. I have been collecting Axl memorabalia that will soon be put back on eBay for resale. If he was not planning to come, he should have been responsible enough to announce it before I paid someone to drive me down and pick me up. What a horrible feeling.
Mr_Sparkle Posted December 6, 2002 Posted December 6, 2002 I love how people are already blaming AXL. LOL, what if he died? is it his fault then? Why don't you wait and get the story before being an as*hole :
madison Posted December 6, 2002 Posted December 6, 2002 Here's a report from AP (Associated Press):Concertgoers throw chairs, bottles after Guns 'N Roses no-show 7 December 200200:03Associated Press Newswires . PHILADELPHIA (AP) - Police were called to the First Union Center late Friday night as concertgoers became unruly after the rock group Guns 'N Roses did not appear for a scheduled concert. Witnesses reported angry fans yelling and cursing, throwing bottles and chairs, ripping up plants, and overturning trash cans. Several fights were reported. Two backup bands played extended sets and were booed by fans, after which the stage was set up for Guns 'N Roses, witnesses said. After they did not appear, the crowd became increasingly rowdy. Concertgoers reported being told by security personnel that the band was stuck on the highway. On Nov. 7 in Vancouver, police used pepper spray to disperse thousands of irate fans rampaging outside after a Guns N' Roses concert was canceled because lead singer Axl Rose failed to appear. No injuries were reported.

Guest Posted December 6, 2002 Posted December 6, 2002 Yeah...I'm back...I'm completely fine. Saw a bunch of @sses breaking seats off and throwing them from where I was sitting down onto the floor...pretty high f-cking drop. And then these idiots laughed and high-fived each other. Most were completely s*it-faced. In my opinion, the alcohol was the main problem tonight. I don't believe it was from an illness either, I think that was just some type of coverup. The whole ordeal was extremely confusing. At about, I don't know, eleven or so, everyone starts standing up and flipping out, cheering and s*it, so I assume that they were ready to come out. This is what I heard from a chick that was in the front row:Axl and co were ready to come out around eleven (I don't remember the exact time anymore) and were in view (probably true, I saw a big group of security come out where the performers come out), but Axl saw that those f-cking d-ckheads on the floor were throwing cups, chairs, and whatever else they had to throw onto the stage, got p-ssed, flipped the crowd off and left. I could have swore to God I saw Buckethead from where I was. So it's probably true. I don't blame them for not coming out either. F-ck Philadelphia....F-CK PHILADELPHIA
sammy Posted December 6, 2002 Posted December 6, 2002 Here's the story. First to mr. sparkle. What if he died? And what would you think then? Dude get real. First off How many shows did the Stones cancel last fuckin' minute...... Second I've been die hard Guns since back in the day. I went last night to MSG and the show was great!!! Tonight I brought 8 friends and told them the show would be great. I told security at 10:55 not to worry he would play. At 11:10 it was done the sound guy was covering up the sound board which eventually got destroyed. No it wasn't a riot. But would it make things better if it was? God damn it.... I busted my ass to see this show and it didn't happen. if someone was sick, like they said happened. Then why wait to tell everyone at 11:45. I was dedicated to a Rock & Roll band. Whatever the reason. This is bullshit. Even if yopu were dying you don't keep everyone hanging on til 11:00 to say nothing. Bullshit is bullshit. Thanks for bursting the Guns N' Roses bubble. You lost a big fan. And I mean big dedicated fan...................................................................................................................
madison Posted December 6, 2002 Posted December 6, 2002 Glad to hear you're all right Mark.As for the band being ready to play ... Well, the rumors say it was only Axl who was NOT there. Apparently he is still here in NYC.
sammy Posted December 6, 2002 Posted December 6, 2002 To mr. sparkle: What's your age? 2 Don't reply with stupid quick comebacks. Think or shut up.........
