Kill Em All.

There would be no thrash if it wasn't for this album!

I HIGHLY disagree with you, Thrash was underground in the early 80's and with influences like Venom, Diamond Head and other NWOBHM bands, Thrash wouldnt be thrash

Saying "There would be no thrash if it wasn't for this album!" is such a biased under statement. You must not know your thrash history. Kill Em' All wasn't the bringer of Thrash, Thrash was already in existince. Slayer, Exodus, Anthrax and others were already performing and releasing demos prior to Metallica's Kill Em' All. So in regards to your statement, you are WRONG, failure.

The NWOBHM bands INFLUENCED thrash, but they weren't thrash. If you trace it back far enough, you can credit Hank Williams with being the great grandfather of thrash.

Bands like Exodus and Slayer and the lot were playing at the same time as Metallica, however it is Kill 'Em All that is widely regarded as the first album of the genre, the first album to be given the title "trash metal."

I didn't mention, NWOBHM was thrash, but that it was an influence

"...with influences like Venom, Diamond Head and other NWOBHM bands, Thrash wouldnt be thrash.."

A reason why Kill Em' All took off was from Ride the Lightning, people listened to Ride the Lightning and wanted to hear what some other stuff they have, sounded like.

Back in the day, Metallica's Kill Em' All was basically like all other Thrash Metal albums. Reason being why it became popular was the sucess of Metallica over all the other bands.

If Slayer became more sucessful then Metallica, they would be hailed as the first for Thrash Metal that became popular.

This is not true. There was thrash before this, this was jsut the album that opened the genre more. and yes, other bands did have demos before Kill 'em all, but metallica had demos before kill em all as well. I have to go with this as the best early thrash album though. I can't listen to to much Slayer, they are way too repetative, and get annoying.
