GIGANTOUR

They announced this tour a while ago but tickets are finally starting to go on sale. It's Megadeth with Dream Theater, Dillinger Escape Plan, Fear Factory, Nevermore, Life of Agony, Symphony X, Dry Kill Logic, and Bobaflex . How fuckin' awesome is that gonna be?!

Megadeth and Dream Theater are two of my favorite bands. I saw Megadeth on November 19th last year and Glen Drover tossed me pick. They put on a great show so I can't wait to see them again. I wanted to see Dream Theater last year but didn't get tickets in time, so seeing them together is gonna be amazing. B)

My Webpage

There's a link to the tour site.

I noticed in the picture that pretty much the entire crowd is guys, haha. At my show it was just like that..I swear I saw like a whole three other girls there.

Totally not worth what they're gonna charge for tickets. 50 bucks for Megadeth and Dream Theater? I don't like any of the other bands on the tour, and I'm not a huge dream theater fan, so I'd be paying 50 bucks for Megadeth basically. I mean I like Dream Theater I just dont get that big into them. I would NOT pay 50 bucks for Megadeth at that venue. The one they're playing here is shit for metal. It can barely service the volume that The Who play, and that's quieter than Megadeth. It's a Friday night so my damned Jewish self can't go anyway, but I wouldn't pay that much at that venue.

i thought megadeath just had their final tour?¿?¿

sounds good...but id rather go to ozzfest....or AC/DC...whenever that happens

Where'd you hear that?

dave said "blackmale the universe" probaly will be their last tour

but after the success of the tour he got convinced to do another one :|

I thought tickets were $35, because it was "cost-effective tour" for people who can't afford festivals like Ozzfest and shit.

Man I wish they'd come to the UK, I'd give anything to meet Dave and the guys one more time!

Oh and Dream Theater leave halfway through this tour to promote their new album "Octavarium" (Out June the 6th!) and are being replaced by (it looks like) Anthrax!

Are you serious? I didn't know that! DT better be playing the Chicago date...I saw Anthrax already when I went to a Dime Tribute show in February. I'd much rather see Dream Theater.

I woul much rather see this than AC/DC, but I would choose ozzfest over this, its hard thugh, Dream Theater and Megadeth are pretty damn good, but I think Sabbath, Mastodon, BLS, and Iron Maiden win. I need to see Dream Theater sometime though.

Binge is right. The ticket price is $35.

Here's the statement the band issued:

INITIAL TOUR DATES REVEALED FOR

DAVE MUSTAINE'S 'GIGANTOUR'

FEATURING MEGADETH, DREAM THEATER, FEAR FACTORY,

DLLINGER ESCAPE PLAN AND NEVERMORE ON THE MAINSTAGE;

LIFE OF AGONY, SYMPHONY X, DRY KILL LOGIC AND BOBAFLEX CONFIRMED FOR SECOND STAGE

Initial tour dates have been revealed for DAVE MUSTAINE’s GIGANTOUR.

The six-week festival trek--co-headlined by Megadeth and Dream Theater and also featuring mainstage acts Fear Factory, Dillinger Escape Plan and Nevermore--will launch July 21 in Fresno, CA. Life of Agony, Symphony X, Dry Kill Logic and Bobaflex are confirmed for the second stage.

GIGANTOUR follows Megadeth’s sold-out 2004 “Blackmail The Universe” Tour in support of 2004’s THE SYSTEM HAS FAILED--their tenth studio album--which debuted on the charts at #18 and was critically hailed as a brilliant return to form. Bandmates Glen Drover (guitar), James MacDonough (bass) and Shawn Drover (drums) will once again join DAVE MUSTAINE on the road.

GIGANTOUR--whose moniker was inspired by the classic 1960’s cartoon “Gigantor”--will criss-cross North America, with stops in amphitheatres and arenas in cities including Los Angeles, New York, Chicago, Detroit, Toronto, Montreal, Washington, Philadelphia, Boston and Minneapolis, among others. The tour is implementing the “fan friendly” ticket price of approximately $35 each. In a special offering to fans who log on to www.megadeth.com or www.gigantour.com, MUSTAINE and GIGANTOUR are offering “Gold Reserved” tickets (which include a ticket in rows 5-20 and a limited edition t-shirt) or “Platinum Reserved” access (which includes a ticket in the first four rows, backstage access, photos with the band, a tour book and other souvenirs).

“There are a few very successful tours out each summer,” says MUSTAINE, “and in order to be significant, I knew the first Gigantour had to make an impact with top bands like Dream Theatre, Fear Factory, Dillinger Escape Plan and Nevermore.” MUSTAINE wanted to “put together a festival that consisted of positive bands that play heavy music in a high energy environment.”

Well when I checked TicketMaster, tix were 50 bucks. That's what I saw.

And Olga, this is a very different Anthrax. This is the REAL Anthrax. Belladona, Benante, Ian, Bello, and Spitz. Not the panzy's you saw, hon, the real deal.

I still like Dream Theater better.
