However, there are a lot of people on this boad who are against pretty much everything that isn't rock or metal. I've heard two Gwen Stefani singles, and they both really, really suck. Listen to "Holla Back Girl". Does that even constitute as singing? At least 80% her 'singing' is sung on ONE note.That's ridiculous. The rest is her just saying stuffWell I guess that is your opinion. I love the singles off of her album, and Hollaback Girl is an awesome song- my friends and I blast it in the car all the time. The part where you say shes saying stuff is ment to sound like a cheer. I also notice you said you only heard two singles. I'm wondering if you have heard any other songs on the album. Also "Hollaback Girl" is doing an amazing job as a single, and overall her album is a success. I think she might put out a christmas CD before she goes back to ND.One thing I know for sure, it was nothing like their albums of the 90's. It wasn't even ska for christs's sake.And why shoud it be? Did GnR made AFD 2 and 3? Why shouldn't a band change and explore new sounds..? Also the only album of theirs which can be truely considered ska is No Doubt (self titled) and Beacon Street. Tragic Kindgom had some ska tracks but they were leaning towards different sounds by that point. And why should Gwen's solo album sound like old No Doubt? Or even like No Doubt at all? That would be so boring. The point of the album was to be something different, and appeal to a new audience. I just think their last album was heavily influenced by Gwen and she fucked No Doubt up.I'm sorry but that is such an ignorant thing to say. She single handedly fucked up No Doubt? You know.. there are 3 other guys in the band named Adrian, Tony, and Tom. And believe me- they have imput. They might not be as flashy or get as much camera time but they matter and make that band what it is. Gwen's influence doesn't determine 100% what No Doubt's sound is.You can believe whatever you want about the whole band having input on that album, but I can hardly believe that the people in her band actually playing instruments were be okay with taking a backseat to synths and digital soundWhat I wanna know is why you are so confident to say that the other band members have no imput? Actually Tony helped Gwen with many of the songs on her solo album, yep. And if you have ever seen interviews with the band THEY ALL talked about Rock Steady and how they came to make it sound the way it is, basically inspiried by the whole dance scene they went to look for inspiration in Jamaica where they recorded the album. Greenday, a bunch of greasy kids that made a recent shit album and somehow they're the greatest band in the world once again when in reality, they were forgotten about by all the fat fuck teens of America so they threw some shit songs together for a comeback.Ah, glad I got that off my chest. I might add more people later since I'm one of those loner losers that hate most popular people. EDIT: Oh! I just remembered Greenday.
