DirtyDeeds
Where're getting all this 'right touch' information from?<{POST_SNAPBACK}>my ears. hey man, if you dig these bands, that's great. I'm not trying to insult the bands or your taste. they are some great talents. And I appreciate you trying to steer me in the direction of some similar sounds. I appreciate everyone who has responded in this thread. I'm checking out every single thing mentioned. And my bickering about "the right touch" I think may help people to know the taste of music I'm trying to find. So thanks for helping me out. DirtyDeeds
Hey DirtyDeeds? Are you familiar with Syd's solo stuff by the way?<{POST_SNAPBACK}>no. I've only heard a few tracks from Piper at the Gates of Dawn and his part in Saucerful of Secrets. So I'm not all too familiar with Syd. I should check more out. Paranoid Android
Try a bit of radiohead. I'd recomend the songs:- "Like Spinning Plates", from the album 'Amnesiac'. - "Climbing up the walls", from the album 'OK Computer'. They're not replicas of Pink Floyd in any way, shape or form, but they were never intedned to be. They do experiment with a lot of sounds and techniques like Floyd though, and strong, clever lyrics. I imagine if you really like floyd, you might like some of the sounds from albums like Amnesiac or Kid A, tis the appitamy of cutting up sounds and putting them in sequenced and altered forms. Tis art. If not, theres this guy called Tom Jones......
chicagocoma13
None of these artists sound as similar as an album by Lee Saunders called a Promise of Peace. It is like-Wall pt. 2--- try going to amazon.com in the US and listen to all of the 30 minute samples and you will get an idea
