Metal is another Rock sub-genre, like Punk or Hardcore, its just and style if you want a gnr Heavy Metal song listen to Don't Cry.<{POST_SNAPBACK}>No GnR are defantly NOT Metal.And Hair/Glam Metal is actully not Metal.Metal is written in the Minor scales, and contains dark or folklore lyrics.Rock is written in the Major scales, and contain lyrics that are about people.Hair Metal and GnR were written in the Major scales, they are blues dominate. So Helloween has their keeper of seven keys fanstasy, Dragonforce has the valley of the damned and Rhapsody has land of immortals etc. etc. You can usually tell by titles of songs too lol.
