Pepeterry
Vai... although i like satriani and malmsteen, Vai's technique is incredible and his speed is unbelievable, you can see on G3'03. But we need to remember that satriani show his techique to Vai, making satriani very good... it was close but Vai wins this one.

johnezz
Vai, proberly the most talented musician ever. Wasn't easy though, he practices 10 hours a day, every day.Although, Satch is proberly the best 'all-rounder' on that list, his melodic stuff is great. A_Sense_Of_Rage
I've heard Vai, Malmsteen and Satriani. Can't say I really liked any of them. Shredding doesn't really have much feeling to it imo. I suppose I was most impressed by Vai, but I still don't like it much. I prefer the slower guitar players with more feeling in their music such as Gilmour or Clapton.ps.They are all better then the plucked KFC freak with the mask by the way. Never in history have I heard guitar playing with so little emotion in it as in Bucket's solo crap.<{POST_SNAPBACK}>AGREE. Though I must say Vai was originally taught by Satriani, so everybody voting Vai might remember that. Intsrumental guitar for its own sake is like Nintendo...around and around and around the race track...Some great guitarists no one even thought of on this list....Michael Schenker, Brian Tatler, Uli Jon Roth, or Joe Perry.
