Forsaken
well, i think buckethead is the fastest player around. but that doesnt make him the bestWhat about Michael Angelo Batio (Nitro)??Steve Vai would eat him alive... He's fast, but nowhere as good as Vai. Most Technically Skilled: Steve Vai.NO ONE is as technically proficient as michael angelo batio, that's a fact. YepWhat do you mean "Yep"? Do you even know what you are talking about? Get some of Steve Vai's DVD's and watch him live. Go ahead...really? can steve vai play one of these? here's some video of him using onehttp://www.compfused.com/directlink/603/Yeah i've seen that... Ehh... Vai plays this instead... =/ http://img.engadget.com/common/images/6326...004745400492867Watch these please...http://video.google.com/videoplay?docid=66...3&q=guitar+solohttp://video.google.com/videoplay?docid=-8...295&q=steve+vai Edited October 2, 2005 by Forsaken

Forsaken
Indeed. Also, if that isn't enough for you, get the G3'03 Live in Denver DVD. Vai uses his Triple Neck Guitar, and it is some of the best guitar playing I have ever seen. I would rip it and upload it, but it would be considered as posting warez... and well... What are you talking about? Malmsteen is a shredder, and he combined those techniques and did a blues solo, and it was fucking great. ThePartyBoy
BTW, I've read in numerous magazines and other sources that Michael Angelo Batio IS the fastest guitarist on the planet. There is no opinion behind that, which would make him, technically the best, since he can also tap on two different guitars at the same time. But, just 'cause he's the fastest doesn't make him the best. There are many other guitarists I would rather listen to that aren't as fast as him (Jimmy Page, Eddie Hazel, Gary Moore, Slash, etc)

Agreed. It's not blues if the dude is playing 105209 nps. There's no soul in that, man.All my opinion, though.
