Richard email about his guitars

I e-mailed Richard about his guitar playing, how his guitar playing changes from big pop acts to rock acts like GN'R and what kind of guitars he has. Here is what he had to say.

I've toured with loads of different types of

artists. I've played on some pop records. I just try and play what's

right for the song. That's all i ever do, just play what i hear and

what supports the song. I own about 100 different types of guitars.

Most of them are old Gibsons, Fenders, Gretschs, Martins, Epiphones...

the usuals. I've got some strange old ones as well. Different guitars

have different sounds. I like to have a wide palette of sounds to

choose from, so i have lots of guitars and lots of amps. are you a

guitarist?

So what do you think about Richard's style and guitars?

Richard is ace, the best member of current gnr except axl imo. He's a great guitar player too, everything was perfect on the tour, and he had lovely tone. Also he didn't just end up playing lps all the time.
