kevdo242
My band has got through to a battle of the bands final and we have to play about 3 of our own songs in a 15 minute set. I've got some ideas for songs already and we're ready to write more songs. Anyone got any tips that could improve our chances of winning? kevin
Show some energy, lots of it. Get the crowd involved, like drum concentrated parts with less guitars, get the crowd all up and like hands clapping and stuff. Basically have fun, if you have fun they will! slashs_servant
Yes. DO NOT WRITE and i repeat DO NO WRITE any emo / ballad / corny songs about last weeks girlfriend, and stabbing your wrists cause she broke up with you... Write somethign crowd pumping, a fast intro riff, with a drum / bass break down, chuck some catchy lyrics over that and your sure to win...Dont you guys have any originals already written ? johnezz
Yeah you need something really upliftying and catchy, just listern to Iron Maiden - Rock in Rio, thats how a live band should sound. They main thing you need is a catchy chord progression and build from there. And a chorus that goes up a tempo and the whole ground can sing along to.And make should your singer is really pumped up, some adreniline injections should do. They are quite good in my opinion and I think I'm quite good at writing lyrics.
