where's izzy?
I play guitar and saxophone and I understand music theory pretty well. I was thinking of taking a crack at the piano. Is it possible to do without lessons.Opinions are appreciated.

FinckFortus
If you have a fair understand of music theory (including intervals, chord progressions, harmonisation etc) and you have the drive to learn piano - then just go for it on your own. If you are less certain of your chances, take some lessons. They won't do you any harm.
