Reporting People

When you report someone, how do you know if the mods get the messgae? Do you get any kind of acknowledgement that the report was received and that something will be done or won't be done. (that is, do you find out if the person you reported has been warned or not).

Also, does the person you report ever find out who reported them?

like I said, just wondering...

If it's a "report to mod" complaint, we don't always message back, but we do look into all complaints that we receive. And no, we don't disclose who lodged a complaint when we're addressing it with the member involved.

If the complaint is sent to an individual mod through the pm system, then you probably would receive a message back.

Why do people get reported anyways?

<{POST_SNAPBACK}>

Different reasons. Sometimes, some members find another members' posts offensive or abusive, and want to point it out. Sometimes, some members are having fights on the forum with another member and need a mod to help resolve the dispute. Sometimes, members will notice that someone has posted something that breaks forum rules (such as posting porn or having a gigantic sig) and they let us know. :)

Few times I reported bashing the new band members and nothing happened. :(

We look into all complaints, and we address them using the pm system - not the open forum. So, you would not necessarily "see" the actions that we take.

A few times i have reported racist and personal attacks on myself and nothing was done.........i then dealt with Rik on a more personal level and blamo..........gone.

I think it can pay to make people understand exactly why your offended not just report the problem ;)

No forum is perfect but it is only as good as the choices the posters make.... so think before posting ;)

Because they are incapable of arguing a case successfully. Axl_Morris once reported me because I accused him of listening to Tom Jones... I mean come on! <_<
