Two of the best albums from that decade, from two of the best rock bands ever.

Both released in 1980 (two years before I was born - unbelievable!!). Both full of unashamedly dumb, sleazy and very loud rock n' roll. Catchy riffs and raspy vocals abound!

So which one is the best?

Here are some lyrics to help you make up your mind:

She take you down easy

Going down to her knees

Going down to the devil

Down down at ninety degrees

She blowing me crazy

'til my ammunition is dry

- AC/DC

Wanted no applause

Just another cause

Made a meal out of me and come back for more

Had to cool me down

To take another round

Now I'm back in the ring to take another swing

- AC/DC

Hey baby you're a sweet young thing,

Still tied to Mommy's apron strings,

I don't even dare to ask your age,

It's enough to know you're here backstage,

You're Jailbait, and I just can't wait,

Jailbait baby come on

- Motorhead

A little beauty, I love you madly,

Come on home with me,

I know you're hot, I know what you've got,

You know I want to shake your tree,

Come on honey, touch me right there,

Come on honey, don't you get scared,

Come on honey, let me get you in the sack,

You know The Chase Is Better Than The Catch

- Motorhead

Beautiful, aren't they? Tom Waits and Bob Dylan could try for years and not write such meaningful lyrics.

Me? It's a very close call, but I voted for Motorhead. The song titled Dance is well named, because it's one of the few songs I will actually dance to. :shades:

<{POST_SNAPBACK}>

Don't like them at all, Metallicas albums are better.

Overkill is superior really.

Overkill rocks. But I slightly favour Ace of Spades, myself.

I still remember the first time I heard/saw Motorhead. It was the most unlikely of places - during an episode of 'The Young Ones'. I was 8-9 yrs old at the time and instantly developed a bad case of hero-worship with Lemmy.

In fact, that episode of The Young Ones was fucking hilarious. Neil pissing on Lord Snot's head + a live performance by Motorhead = a great half hour of entertainment.

I love that episode! We studied The Young Ones in English earlier this year -- it's great -- and hearing Ace of Spades caps it off. B)

I love the bit on the train when Neil and Rik are arguing about who's a 'swot'... class. :xmasssanta:

Oh yeah... on topic... um...

Lemmy, wooo!
