Jefferson
What would be even sadder is if someone actually bought it... the tracks can be had fairly easy...It's not so easy, you try typing in TWAT and download into www.google.com search engine and see what comes up, I completely forgot that I was looking for a new GNR song and downloaded about 5 hours of hardcore porn instead.LMAO!!! that was funny. motownjunkie
Jesus! I hope he doesnt get sued and has the chance to take the item down first. Who wants a fellow Gunners fan to have his life ruined by this. Sure it was silly! and he wasnt thinking straight but wanting him to get sued is a bit harsh! mcalldp
I imagine they would give him a chance to take it down before his 'life is ruined' Still this is way freakin bad mojo for someone to do. I have nothing against leaked tracks because they are going to fans that have stuck by the music and plan to buy the album anyway, sharing them freely and discussing them is a really neat thing to participate in. Trying to sell this stuff? Man that is low...I smell POND-SCUM. Edited February 27, 2006 by mcalldp
luvaxl4ever
Some of you are such hypocrites. How many of you downloaded the leaked songs? How many of you own GNR bootlegs? How many of you have used limewire or kazaa? Yes, the guy is absolutely in the wrong for trying to make a profit, but how dare you judge him when a lot of us on this board have been no better. But as even you say, none of us made a dime off the sharing of a link. But as for the topic, I know how to piss off Axl. Apparently you sell out a buliding for him on a tour where they had documented ticket sales problems and become one of the only cities to even have a second show added. That REALLY pisses him off. He doesn't even show up.

When I rip concerts or take photographs I share them freely over the internet and my ONLY term to people who download them is that they stay free for people to enjoy. That means that people should not be doing what this guy did, cause that is crossing the line. At least in my book, and if that is your definition of a hypocrite, so be it. King_of_Beers
I think the demo's are great to have, it shows work in progress, of course when you are starved you will take what ever is on offer. But back to downloading, if GNR where to issue live concerts of soundboard quality from their website for a minimal fee, $2 per show then I would be happy paying it, even better would be that with every GNR album that you legally purchased entitles you to enter the GNR website to download stuff that normally GNR will not release. There are no moral issues in my book to sharing GNR material that has not been officially released, but selling it crosses the line. pilferk
The guy (well, jerkoff, really) should add the following to his ebay auction:"And, as special bonus, I'll include the amazing 9 WHOLE SECONDS of CITR FREE OF CHARGE!!"This guy is a tool.... As I said, he is extremely wrong for trying to make a profit, but I still stand by my original post. That they´re illegal don´t make them the same, so I still don´t think your point is valid. I´m for downloading but not making a profit from it and if you don´t see the difference I am sorry but I think it´s clear as a sunny day. Most people here pay through the nose for music, concerts, merch etc and to try to stop downloading on some fake ass moral ground is just the capitalists wet dream. Basicly this is a different discussion, cause I think that most people here are gonna buy the GNR-record when it comes out so it´s not really an issue that relates to the actual filesharing-discussion going on all over the world right now. Personally I think the music industry needs to get a reality check./Lukin - the hypocrite pro-filesharing asshole Edited February 27, 2006 by Lukin

This was bound to happen, and I don´t think the GNR camp sees it as a big problem. They´ll probably just contact e-bay and make the guy remove it. Don´t think they´ll go further than that. I do see the difference, but at the end of the day, they are BOTH against the law. Personally, I think he should have the chance to remove the auction, just like websites were given a chance to remove the links to the songs. If he doesn't comply, then yes, he should be sued. But we wouldn't even have this discussion if Axl would just RELEASE THE ALBUM!!!!!!
