Rick
Why won't these guys play any U.S. Shows? Do we have to fly to another country just to see them?Gn'R toured the US in 2002. There were very few shows in Europe in 2002 compared to how many were book in the US. They're just doing the rounds. Judging by the ticket sales so far it's going to be a very popular tour - whereas the 2002 US tour wasn't well supported in some cities.R. GnR lives on
Why won't these guys play any U.S. Shows? Do we have to fly to another country just to see them?Because they need to establish a good touring rapport.... Clear Channel needs to see that axl wont screw them over again and skip shows and cancel tours or something like that.... Without CC it's hard to do a US tour.... Jochen
I think they should do Summerfest (along with Metallica), but it's too late for that.

There wasnt much suport from USA last time around, so why go back there?

You're just a warm-up, or the stretch before the big run. I do agree GNR had a better showing in Europe the last time around, though, with the fans. I think a strong record with some modern hits will get the average U.S. fan more interested this time around though. Nothing like coming to the states... ask Paul McCartney. The Sandman
tbh, even if Gn'R was bigger in the states, Axl wants to please this audience, everyone and their dog will buy it (album) over the pond, but here in Europe, they may need convincing. More people (and critics in general) seem to view them as "classic" rock whereas in the US a lot of people don't hold as high an opinion of them. It's fitting that I hadn't heard of GN'R or heard any of their songs until I moved to England. SCOM is played on Virgin seemingly every day. violent cop
A tour of the Original lineup (Axl, Slash, Duff, Izzy, drummer) would sell huge in the US.

eschman
the way I see it, they owe Europe for the cancelled shows a few years back.
Maddergascar
Some bands do better in europe than others often for inexplicable reasons. GnR are imho bigger in the uk than aerosmith or pink floyd (though a lot of them are of the opinion that the current lineup isn't really gnr). Just do a poll of where people here are from and you'll see. Last time there were almost as many british alone as there were americans. gn'r4life
well it makes sense for them to start touring in a place where he recieved more support last time around.. and by the time some of the concerts in Europe are over, maybe more people in the US will be interested. Like mentioned above, concert organizers have to know that Axl is serious and won't screw it up this time around. Guns n Roses are probably gonna go all around the world, and they had to start somewhere, so why not Europe? Also, i think Axl is gonna do whatever the fuck he wants, so touring in Europe must be what he wants to do! =]And so what if we have to travel to see them? I wish they would come to St John's, Newfoundland, but i know they won't, so... off to Europe i go to see them!! i'm just glad that Axl and Guns n Roses are back in action, no matter where they are!! Big congratulations to them for the touring they are about to begin! Welcome back Gn'R!!! =]and i'm sure they will make their way back to America before too long, so... just a little patience... yeahhh.my two cents worth... PS_PoWeR
Why won't these guys play any U.S. Shows? Do we have to fly to another country just to see them?Maybe Axl doesn't want to play in front of half empty arenas again? Then again, whats ironic about the 2002 tour was that Axl quit just when they were getting into the heavy fan areas. The shows done in the midwest were slow sellers, but NYC, Washington DC, Philly, etc. were all basically sold out and ready to rock. Yet Axl bailed right when they got there!
