Guest Ohdistortedsmile1789
I like U2 and I'm not ashamed of it, everytime someone at my school looks on my ipod (my friends i dont just give it to anybody) they see U2 on there and there always like "That is so gay" I just don't understand why most people think U2 is gay?I don't think U2 are a homosexual band, but I still hate them.I knew you would hate them! Really?!?! Howcome?!?!I just saw that yours was the last post, and as I clicked I knew what I was going to read. I guess I know your tastes pretty well by now, we are always posting in the same threads and what-not.
adnan
An excellent band. Never liked them much while hearing singles etc. But I bought an album and never looked back.

adnan
bah U2... cant stand em either, and i just cant figure out if its POP or ROCK What does it matter? It's music.Precisely. Music. There are a ton of great artists who didn't play rock n roll or metal. Kenny Rogers, Elton John, Prince, Bob Dylan, YANNI. Yes, I did say Yanni. I like the dude. Nightrain_Kid
You are certainly right about that, although I haven't heard anything of theirs past OK Computer. Most everyone is influenced by U2 these days, especially Radiohead, and in turn, Coldplay.Hmm I'm not sure, Radiohead has a very very different style to U2. Amnesiac is probably my favourite album of theirs, songs like "Like spinning plates", "Pulk/pull revolving doors" etc. are quite experimental, and somewhat weird, love it.I think the bends is very u2 influenced at times and maybe the fact that u2 went kinda experimental with achtung baby after a huge seller inspired radiohead to do the same with ok computer after the bends, but yeah get achtung baby, havnt really got into it hugely yet but its still a bloody good album

Listenin to their music shouldnt be giving in.Try actually reading before you go and play your part of devil's advocate. I explained why I haven't been a U2 listener, but you just want to flex nuts. Genesis
I don't even know why I own a couple of their albums : can't stand them. They're not better than Simple Minds imo.Jim 'Wan' Kerr
Yamisonic
Not a big fan of the style, and Bono singing "love love peace brother sister" pisses me off at times. Beautiful Day is cool, I like the echo. Stuck In A Moment You Can't Get Out Of is nice too, but Beautiful Day I like better. God Part II does make me want to kill someone though. Gash
I think Bono used to be a great songwriter. At one time. I think U2 specialise in advert-rock now. Generic, plow-along dirge WHAP BANG PERFECT background music for product advertisements with zero emotional quantity.
