Vogstar90_G'N'R
Anyone know if axl is gonna make any videos for some of the songs on CD? if they do then they would have to record some of the concert footage of the band and crowds since in almost all their videos they show the band doing live performances and stuff. anyone wanna take a hint at what some of the videos if the band makes any will have in them? MTV & VH-1 don't play music videos anymore. And MTV2 plays mostly R&B, hip hop and alternative rock. It might be a waste of money for Guns to make videos. It's not 1992 anymore when "November Rain" would be played 50 times a day on MTV. If GnR does make any videos they should put it on their official site for people to download. Or do 30 second commercials on TV. Only way to get attention these days. I think there gonna have a hard enough time getting heard on the radio. A lot of FM rock stations only play the old songs. I'm sure Geffen's gonna pull out all the stops to get their money back on the album.

JAC185
Do you think he'd let the crowd knowLike 'this will be the next single, we are recording it for a video'Or will it just be a surpriseAlso having two live gigs to cut from would look cool, such as small hardcore fans at the warmups and massive crowds at RIR, if both were interspersed with whatever the video is that would look impressive

browser
gnr is stil big in europe i think..it might be played a lot in europe if they make a videoTHEIR HUUUUGE here trust me the video will be worth europe alone. MTV and other music channels (alot of em here) play loads of vids. and alot of channels offer "per request" plays. and on the nights when gnr is one of the bands to request, they still get played once an hour
angel of music
yup, here in Latinamerica they are still BIG too!music stores here still play the UYI DVDs in the big home theatres that are on stands to sell.. it's really cool to see them still playing it! If they make a new video it will be aired a lot here, for example the new RHCP video is getting a lot of exposure.. GnR would get even more! And VH-1's become the Celebrity Gossip channel. MTV2 only plays rap, R&B and Green Day. I should have stated that Guns n Roses HAS to make videos but they shouldn't make Don't Cry/November Rain/Estranged type epic videos. That would be a waste of money. Why make some multi-million dollar video when only a handful of people will see it? If Axl releases videos like "Yesterdays," "Sweet Chid O Mine" and "You Could Be Mine" that would be the most cost efficient.

On my Sky dish there is something like 20 music channels playing music videos, covering all musical preferences from pop, to rock to rap to classical. Kids these days still sit watching them for extended periods, there really is no other advertising media like it for artists. It is a captive audience, they are too lazy to get off the couch and changing channels is so big a task that most only contemplate it when adverts or Bon Jovi are on. It is a captive audience, they are too lazy to get off the couch and changing channels is so big a task that most only contemplate it when adverts or Bon Jovi are on.I don't think most people have a sattelite dish. I don't. Just 70 channels and only three (BET, CMT & MTV2) play music videos. And MTV2 doesn't play music like "Better" or "IRS." Velvet Revolver's "Fall To Pieces" got a lot of airtime. All I'm saying is things have changed a lot since 1987-1992 when Guns N Roses made it big. Back then a new GnR video was a Primetime event. I just can't see the new GnR showing up on TRL Live. Again you're right they HAVE to make videos but I think the thing that really is gonna promote this album is: - a US tour with some decent opening acts this time (no Mix Master Mike & Jackass)- TV ads (30 second promos for the album)- print ads- The new group doing a shitload of press interviews, especially Axl. - and make full use of the internet. Axl may think it's a "trash can' but it can make or break a band these days. The GnR official site should feature videos, song snippets, the album to buy & download, personal web diaries from the band members, a fan club, etc... And Axl should to online chats with his fans. Music videos and radio airplay aren't gonna do the job alone. They need a full on media assault. The new Guns N Roses album should be like Star Wars: Episode I, everyone should be aware of it.
