Rebel Yell
Radiohead Return With Tour Progressive British alt outfit to preview new songs live "Trying to figure out how on earth we will be able to play some of it," Radiohead frontman Thom Yorke wrote in his blog this spring. The "it," of course, referred to the new tracks for the cryptic rockers' long-awaited follow-up to their 2003 album, Hail to the Thief. Looks like Yorke and Co. have finally come up with an answer to the performance dilemma, with this week's announcement of their first tour in three years. This summer, Radiohead will roll out two-night stands in nine American cities, beginning with Philadelphia's Tower Theatre on June 1st. The month-long jaunt, which includes a June 17th headlining slot at the Bonnaroo Music Festival in Manchester, Tennessee, will hit up smaller, more intimate venues and feature songs from the forthcoming album, produced by Mark "Spike" Stent (Oasis, Madonna). Some of the ten tracks making the album reportedly include "Nude," "15 Step," "House of Cards" and "Arpeggi.""I think we've always worked best when we aren't bothered about making mistakes," Yorke, also at work on his first solo release, wrote on his blog. "There's a lot of baggage about the old way of doing things that is hard to get over. All the 'album' crap. Just this level of pressure that is ridiculous. We're just going to do what feels right at the time . . . Some of the random stuff we have at the moment could be the most exciting."Radiohead North American tour dates:6/1: Philadelphia, PA, Tower Theatre6/2: Philadelphia, PA, Tower Theatre6/4: Boston, Bank of America Pavilion6/5: Boston, Bank of America Pavilion6/7: Toronto, Hummingbird Centre6/8: Toronto, Hummingbird Centre6/10: Montreal, Salle Wilfrid-Pelletier6/11: Montreal, Salle Wilfrid-Pelletier6/13: New York, Madison Square Garden Theater6/14: New York, Madison Square Garden Theater6/17: Manchester, TN, Bonnaroo Music Festival6/19: Chicago, Auditorium Theatre6/20: Chicago, Auditorium Theatre6/23: Berkeley, CA, Greek Theatre6/24: Berkeley, CA, Greek Theatre6/26: San Diego, Bayside Convention Center6/27: San Diego, Bayside Convention Center6/29: Los Angeles, Greek Theatre6/30: Los Angeles, Greek TheatreCHARLEY ROGULEWSKI Posted May 01, 2006 4:16 PMSource: Rolling Stone
Paranoid Android
Already booked to see them twice accidently. I didn't know they'd be headlining a festival I'm going to. Innocent, yet welcome mistake.
