Guest +*Michelle*+
Better LyricsNo one ever told me when I was aloneThey just thought I'd know better.. better...No one ever told me when I was aloneThey just thought I'd know better.. better... The hardest part this troubled heart has never yet been through nowTo heal the scars that got their start inside someone like you nowBut had I known or I'd been shown back when I'd long you'd take me To break the charge that brought me home... and all that won't erase meI never would not that I couldNo matter what you paid mereplay the partYou stole my heartI should have known you're crazy If all I knew was that with youI'd want someone to save meIt'd be enoughThat just my luckI fell in love and baby... All that I wanted was...Now I know you betterYou know I know betterYeah, now I know you better! So bittersweet, this tragedy wont ask for absolutionThis melody inside of me, still searches for solutionA twist of fate, the change of heart kills my infatuationA broken heart can't hide the spark for my determinationNo one ever told me when I was aloneThey just thought I'd know better, better...No one ever told me when I was aloneThey just thought I'd know better, better...All that I wanted, was...I know, you know, you know betterYou know, I know, you know betterNow you, know me betterI never wanted you to be so full of anger (anger)I never wanted you to be somebody elseI never wanted you to be someone afraid to know themselvesI only wanted you to see things for yourselfAll that I wanted, was...Now I know you betterNow we all know betterAll that I wanted was...No, no, no, noNo, no, no, noNo, no, no, noNo, no, no, no If I were you, I'd manage to abhore the invitationOf promised love that can't keep up with your adorationJust use your head, and in the end you'll find your inspirationTo choose your steps that won't regret this kind of aggravationNo one ever told me when I was aloneThey just thought I'd know better.. better...No one ever told me when I was aloneThey just thought I'd know better.. better...You reckon? .. Guest Ohdistortedsmile1789
I think Neil Young's "Philadelphia" may take the cake. The message is so powerful, a combination of gay pride, sentimentalism, and facing mortality.
MrShankly
3 Doors Down - Landing In London Aerosmith - I Don't Want to miss a thing Zakk Wylde - Way Beyond EmptyScott Weiland - Man I Didn't Knowthats all i can think of... and most of them make me sad because of personal things going on with my life recently but for a powerful song... well Landing In London (3 Doors Down) is powerful to me...especially when the solo kicks in. and once when i watched Iron Maiden Rock In Rio DVD i felt like crying when the second solo for Number Of The Beast kicked in! that was an amazing moment! rock1 thats all i can think of.... :xmasssanta: Edited July 6, 2006 by AS_Warlock

Dead Flower
I've been listening to Weiland's solo album (12 Bar Blues) a lot lately, and I'm seriously in love with Where's the Man. It's such a simple song, but so emotional.

It's such a simple song, but so emotional.Isn't it fucking great? I didn't really expect it to be so good. I knew that he was into Bowie and all that, but I didn't think he could make an album on that level. It's an Electro-Glam classic. Pop/Rock music doesn't get much better than something like "Barbarella". This album really swayed me to the other side, I don't think Axl can compare to the artist that Scott is. This album really swayed me to the other side, I don't think Axl can compare to the artist that Scott is.You ever seen the music video for Barbarella? Some trippy shit right there. Also has an extended intro that isn't on the album. Awesome song.I find some parts of 12 Bar Blues a bit too out-there for my rather simple tastes, but for the most part it's excellent. The really stripped down stuff like Where's the Man and Son is beautiful. Lady, Your Roof Brings Me Down is twisted jazz that has a bit of an early Tom Waits influence. I often bemoan the fact that Stone Temple Pilots were lumped in with the grunge scene, but the way Scott is dismissed as some sort of Vedder/Staley clone is what really irks me. He's got his own style and is so much more diverse. One of the best things about Velvet Revolver (apart from the great album they made themselves) is that it's inspired me to go back and really immerse myself in Scott's other work. I've made myself an album of different acoustic renditions of STP tracks that is also in heavy rotation on my stereo at the moment – all brilliant stuff, Scott's voice is lovely in that sort of setting. swlabr
Maybe I'm Amazed by Wings. That song, especially live, is crazy! Love it. I think Helena by MCR is sang with a lot of emotion. One of the main reasons why i dig that song. A lot of their songs - mostly old stuff - i sang with a lot of emotion.
