Van Halen Tribute CD

Anyone hear about this? It sounds like a really cool idea, and judging from the clips I've heard, it's pretty damn good sounding too.

June 6th, 2006 (6/6/06) marks the first time David Lee Roth has released Van Halen related material since 1996's Best of Vol. 1. Whats in store for us? Bluegrass Country music at its finest. On Strummin With the Devil: The Southern Side of Van Halan, A Tribute, you get 15 Van Halen tracks recorded by some of the best bluegrass artists out there, along with Diamond Dave himself lending vocals on the songs "Jump" and "Jamie's Cryin'" with the John Jorgenson Bluegrass Band helping out musically.

Such a lovely response from everyone, lol. I dunno, this actually sounds cool, has anyone listened to any of the songs? Metallica's done stuff like this before and it sounded really good.

This will be good for a laugh, and nothing more. For me, a long time Van Halen fan, its depressing as hell to see my favorite band go down the shitter. I'm sure Ed will get some of the profits from this, and thats all he cares about anymore. That and wine/cigarettes. Sad!

Can't be any worse than Van Halen 3.

Oh yes it can, and it will be. :scared:

we fear Van Halen songs turned into Bluegrass...

Well, I had that thought about Hayseed Dixie, a AC/DC bluegrass tribute, but they are actually pretty damn good.

I'm going into this with high expectations, but not expecting much in return.

THIS CANNOT BE A TRIBUTE ALBUM WITHOUT TRACII GUNS

Hahaha! True.
