Router Question

Allright so some of you might know that I recently bought a lap top.. Well part of the deal was that I got a free wireless router, so yeah I wanted to set it up. Anyways.. I go to turn on my home pc, not the lap top, and the monitor like.. made these clicking noises, sounding pretty bad. Anyways the monitor wouldn't turn on, but like the power will go on for a second, but then there's the clicking noises and it shuts off. Anyone know what that could be?

Allright to the more important question.. after that situation I went to setup the router through my laptop. I did everything correctly and stuff, and the wireless works (im on it now!), but will I have to do anything to get the home PC to connect to the internet? It will be plugged in via ethernet cable, not through a wireless access point or anything, but I guess my question is will it still be able to connect to the internet even though I set up the router from a different computer?

thanks :)

Unless you set up static IP you should have no problem accessing the internet through your desktop.

As far as your monitor, it sounds like it's dead. I would suggest trying a different power cable and connecting it to a different computer to see if it gets the same results. If nothing happens, then it's most likely dead.

Allrightt thanks, I'm gonna get my brothers monnitor, connect it to the family desktop, and see if it works, and connect the family comp monitor to my brothers computer. I think we might need a new one though.
