angel of music
they just released the first single of their sophomore album "Sam's Town"the song is called "When You Were Young"you can listen to it on their website: http://www.islandrecords.com/thekillers/I personally liked their debut album Hot Fuss and I don't know what to make of this new stuff as of yet.. Brandon Flowers said he inspired a lot in Bruce Springsteen for this album.. I can see some influence.. but I just don't know, I guess I have to listen to it more to let it grow on me.. it just is different from what I expected.. well I don't know what I expected either hehe
adnan
I liked the Killers for being the Brit-Indie influenced band they were/are. I hope this record maintains some of that sound.I like Springsteen though, so this could be a good thing. But I do hope they have something like "Mr. Brightside" or "Somebody Told Me" on there too. The simple Oasis-ish pop guitars, and the slight electronic touches. The keyboards are brilliant on "Mr. Brightside". Idiot Wind
I haven't heard the new single, but I was surprised with their first album because I actually liked it. Mr. Brightside was especially catchy.
angel of music
after hearing it more I can see lots of influences from U2 as well, but guess that's nothing new that The Killers worship U2 there's even a part where Brandon sings "every once in a little while" just like Bono would do in that same lyric in his song In A Little While It's growing on me
Guest Ohdistortedsmile1789
They aren't necessarily bad, but I can't stand Brandon Flowers, his vocals, his style, everything.
adnan
I swear when I first heard "Somebody Told Me" I thought that Duran Duran had gotten back together with a new singer. Great synth-rock. Maybe too much synth on the first album, so probably this album will be more guitar-oriented. Edited July 14, 2006 by adnan
