EverythingWasRoses
Get a decent sound card for your computer, and some recording software.I have a digitech guitar pedal with MIDI out/in and I also "acquired" a copy of sony soundforge 8.Should I buy a soundcard with like the joystick plug or should I buy a midi to USB thing like this?Or should I get something else all together? santana
Does that effects board have a USB port on it? If so, you probably won't even need a MIDI/USB converter.

What model number is the pedal? I'm sure it is MIDI-enabled to allow for custom editing. Does the pedal have a built-in drum machine? If you're not going to be connecting it to a computer to custom edit, or if your pedal doesn't have a drum machine, then I wouldn't recommend a MIDI/USB converter. The MIDI port only trasmits information, and not actual sound. So you should be fine without one. If you do need a MIDI converter, try getting an audio/midi interface. Something like this: CLICKThat way, you won't need a soundcard, and you'll be able to get both audio and midi into your computer.
