LCG
So it's fair to say that CD is coming out before the tour?I'm pretty sure it won't come out before the tour; it's likely to come out during the tour, around November.

But not nationwide.Touring without any sort of new produsct is just dumb, dumb, dumb.

Go play *in traffic*And what I said is based on nothing but love for this band. But sadly, its only on GNR forums that people think this is one of the biggest bands in the world anymore. So yeah, I'm not really looking forward to stories about lagging ticket sales, lukewarm reviews, and unhappy fans.Maybe you are.All I am asking is that you have a new product before you try and sell a new band. I saw them here in Chicago in '02 and the show was packed. New York was sold out as well. But I heard that a lot of other shows didn't sell as well, especially in the smaller markets. The only way to avoid a repeat of '02 would be to put out the album and let the GNR name be out there in the public eye for a while before starting a tour. Dervaj
Hmmm, well this must be southern arenas and northern indoor arenas. Guitar players cant play in the cold and more than 1/2 of arenas are outdoor. Odd time to tour. Usually bands write music in fall/early winter, practice tunes late winter, hit studio in spring, tour summer. I really hope they have at least one or two HOT tunes in there to hook the common fans. That will guarantee packed arenas. Hope it works out. Edited July 27, 2006 by Dervaj
f**k_your_enemy
This is cool and it looks like all is going to plan... the only thing I find weird is that Richard actually gave months... We all know band members cannot say anything definate... but this sounds pretty definate....

They will be sold on nothing new. So while it may come out mid-tour in time for your town's show, the tickets for said show have been sold on strictly old material. Which you could pull off with the originals. Not the new guys.
Patience 4 Axl
Putting out an album and/or single doesn't guarantee ticket sales, especially if the music isn't well-received. They should stick to smaller venues, like the Hammerstein (3000 people), and see how it goes from there.

Maybe in some of the smaller cities they should play smaller venues, but places like NYC and LA will sell out no problem.

A big reason for that is because they ARE larger cities and people are willing to travel and make a mini vacation out of it. When they played the Hammerstein I only met 1 guy from New York. Everyone else I spoke with was from everywhere else like Canada, Detroit, Florida, even Germany. But in '02 they played cities like Pittsburgh, Columbus, Cleveland which are still major cities but some of those venues weren't even half full. LA_0013
Good news. What worries me however is if the album isn't finished. They've spent the summer touring Europe, then in next to no time they'll be starting off in the US. Where is the studio time to finish the record?? My bets are on the album coming out early next yearLA
GNR=Greatness
For all those wondering if the album is finished. How do we know it isn't already. It could be done already and Axl could just be waiting for the perfect time to release it. Probably while touring the US. I guess we won't know until the time comes. To steal a line from the man himself, "It'll work itself out fine, all we need is just a little patience."
