worldwideboss
Don't start with compilations. Buy Sticky Fingers and Exile on Main St.
Spoon87
I bought "40 Licks", and I love this double album! It's their best of! Really cool song selection.@ Ron, I'm into the Stones now
Dead Flower
I'm glad you managed to find a group that doesn't have a history of drug use.

Yamisonic
By far the sexiest material is on Hot Rocks. But the same songs are on 40 Licks as well, plus some other ones of their slightly lamer era. Anyway, get anything except their 80's albums, they're the best rock n' roll band in the world anyway.
Morten..
Start of with 40 Licks, then get Sticky Fingers, Exile on Main St. Let it Bleed and Beggars Banquet. I started of with 40 Licks, and got hooked. Today I have 16 Stones albums, and I love all of them.
T Patten
I have all The Stones stuff, my favourite album is Exile On Main Street, but i'd recommend you to start off with 40 licks as it spans right across most of The Stones best work, my dad likes The Stones and that's how i got into them so i never had to buy any compilations as i'd heard a lot of their stuff already, but with 40 licks you won't be dissapointed and most people who i know who have bought it have gone on to buying most of The Stones records. Alty
Like a lot of other people here have said already: 40 Licks. Great collection of songs. Perfect for a first Stones cd.
Jackamo!
My '40 Licks' only has '36' songs on it So, I don't recommend the 'Japanese/Chinese' release of it....

Midnight Rambler
Get stiky fingers, exile on main st, let it bleed and beggars banquet, then if you want some brian jones era stones get, aftermath, between the buttons, and out of our heads to start with. If you must get a compilation get "The rolling stones: the london years: the singles collection", coz then you get all their singles up to like 71, plus all the b-sides like child of the moon as well.
