adnan
I'm really digging "Basket Case" right now, and "American Idiot" has the best riff of the past 4 years. Both are really good pop singles. Edited August 16, 2006 by adnan

Yeah, I really don't like most of the songs on "American Idiot" but the title track is really infectious.

Guest PULPY
Ok, but i like jesus of suburbia sometimes. i kinda got pissed at them for Boulevard of broken dreams, because I'm assuming they took their name from Hanoi. it's an uncommon song name. how come they are punk and write a nine minute long song? adnan
The whole American Idiot album is brilliant, my favorite is probably something off of it.It just kinda comes across as them trying to mix themselves, the Who, the Kinks, and the NY Dolls into a rock-opera 'masterpiece'. Whether that was a success or not, I'll let you decide, IMO the only success on that album is the title track, where they used their gift for creating irresistibly catchy punk songs to full effect. I understand your viewpoint and I think they did succeed.
