smith87
I´m thinking of ordering an acoustic guitar from the US. A friend of mine who studies there offered to send me the guitar. (Norway) The problem is since I don´t get to try it out before I buy it i can´t really decide on what I should go for. The sound is the most important so I need some expert advice on what type of brand I can´t go wrong with?Any reply will be appreciatedSome suggestions:Taylor 110-E Dreadnought Acoustic-Electric GuitarSome good reviews, but a bit high in price. $699Ibanez AEF37E Acoustic-Electric Guitar with Onboard TunerThis guitar just looks stunning in the cherry sunburst version $
Axls_Disillusion
i personally wouldn't buy something without playing it first and making sure its what i want.

Axls_Disillusion
well thats because America kicks ass Isn't there a guitar shop or something up there in Norway where you could find these exact models and try them out, and then buy them from your friend here? smith87
Yes the US rules! I bought my electric while I was in Phoenix last year. Best vacation ever. I entered a guitarcenter shop in scottsdale and it blew me away. I think I could be there for hours and hours. But the problem here where I live is that the stock is limited. It really sucks! santana
I would strongly recommend finding an acoustic in Norway. See, with an electric (unless it's a COMPLETE piece of junk) you can add effects and change the tone until you get the sound you want. You can't do that with an acoustic. What happens if you order a guitar that you think is nice, but when it gets out to Norway, you don't like it? At least if you get one at home, you'll be able to play it before you buy it and see if it sounds like you want. Also, what if the guitar is damaged, or they send you the incorrect one? Then you have to go through the hassle of sending it back and waiting for a new one. But if you really don't like the selection in Norway, and want to get one shipped from the US, what kind of sound are you looking for? Something deep and warm, something bright? I'm heading out the nearest guitar shops this weekend and see what they can offer. Thanks alot guys.Rock on!
