Who else thinks Rose is on top of these guys

i guess it depends on how you define "on top".

i'd say that aerosmith and motley have axl's ass beat as of right now. you think aerosmith or motley (or both together) would have only sold out one of a two night stand at a venue like the joint in vegas?

also, since 1991, motley's actually released a bunch of records and so has aerosmith. granted, they both have released the shittiest music of their careers, but they've still been nice enough to put something new out. aerosmith and motley both have their original lineups intact.

now, had you asked this question in 1989, the answer would have been axl all the way.....for there never was a motherfucker so badass as the AFD/Lies axl rose. in fact, i'm starting to think that he was SOOOO badass in that small time frame, that he never really has to be badass again, but i digress.

based on new material/current CREATIVE activity, axl has them all beat by a mile. even the demos/leaks for CD are better than anything either of those bands have done in the last 10 years......but that's no large feat.

Vince Neal... yes. Steven Tyler... well, that's hard to say. Vince Neal is pretty much a relic of the 80's dinosaurs. Aerosmith transends time... as does GNR. 40 years from now you'll still be hearing Aerosmith and GNR tunes on the radio... just like we still hear Floyd and Zepplin tunes today. Motley Crue? They'll have TV commercials selling "80's rock" for them.

Aerosmith is arguably the greatest RNR band ever from America. If GNR was more accomplished, they'd be right up there. But as of right now, Aerosmith and Steven Tyler are hands down leaps and bounds more accomplished, popular and legendary than GNR or Axl Rose.

BUT... the guys in Aerosmith are in their late 50's. You have to remember, they peaked in their mid 40's with 'Get a Grip', the follow-up to what I consider their greatest album, 'Pump'. Now, if Axl puts out CD and that turns out to be his 'peak'... the world sees this new GNR as GNR (drop the new), and they go on to release a few more great albums and tour til they can't tour no more, they might... just might... out-do Aerosmith.

To think GNR is even in the same class as Aerosmith is laughable. And no, Axl isn't on top of Steven Tyler... just as Steven isn't on top of Axl. They're both rock icons and legends within themselves and can not be compared. It's like comparing Robert Plant to Paul McCartney. You just can't do it.

Vince Neal? Somebody put him out of his misery... cripes he looks terrible. He needs to stop trying to dress like it's the 80's and take a page out of Axl's book if he even wants to look remotely cool.

At the end of the day though, all this video did was make me feel saddened by seeing a guy the caliber of Steven Tyler on stage with Vince Neal. For the record, I do like the Crue, though.

am i the only person that thinks Aerosmith are shit? they do have about 3 songs that are ok but other than that i cant stand them, i was at donington in the early 90s when they headlined it(cant remember what year) and i enjoyed it so much that i fell asleep while standing up in the crowd, only to be woken up when some prick hit me in the face with his elbow because i had my head on his shoulder, he probably thought i was a fag :rofl-lol:

:no::no:

Aerosmith rule in any case, the people who hate them haven't heard the real stuff from the 70's.
