Gnfnrhead
After CD is released, the set list will be in for a big change. WTTJ, SCOM, NR & PC will always stay. but what other songs will? Does anyone think songs like Mr. Brownstone will stay? i think only the big big hits will stay permanent. so say a 20 song set, 8-10 off cd, the 4 mentioned above, theirs at least 6 spots open. YCBM, L&LD could take two of them. but what about the rest? will they just be solos etc?i know theirs been favourite setlist threads before but thats not wht this is, im not asking for a setlist im asking for opionions on it. luvmygabby
I didn't know they did a 20 song set??
KBear
Jungle, PC, and SCOM will always be on the list. NR I could actually see them pulling off the setlist for other ballads that may be coming. There could soon be shows where they have CITR, Maddy, The Blues, Patience, and perhaps other new stuff. That's a lot of ballady softer type stuff that might necessitate them removing NR.There are other possibilities though for what could stay. Is ISE, Brownstone, or Nightrain permanent? Hard to say. They have been played, in most cases at similar points in each show, almost since the very beginning (1980's). Watch Ritz 88. ISE is first, now it's second. Brownstone was second and now it's third. It would be kind of weird going to a GN'R show and not hearing these songs near the top of the list.I for one would love to see RQ become permanent, but I know that won't happen.Come to think of it, if Axl has an amazing closing song then who's to say they don't use PC for some shows? Or if they have a new amazing opener, then who's to say they don't use Jungle? I know it sounds kind of ridiculous, but you never know. It all depends on whether there are new songs that would be suited to those positions.Better would make a great opener. The opening guitar riff is amazing, and just imagine it starting up the way they start Jungle with it's opening. Same effect. Then the song explodes and it's like five minutes of hard, up tempo rock. It would be a great song to open a show with. Better than Jungle? I don't know. But it would still work. bax
I think the set will only have major changes after the album is released. At that point I'm sure they'll drop some of the non-hits and hopefully some of the solos. It's entirely possible that it won't really change it much at all-they have played the same set basically for the whole summer.
Son Of A Gun
I think these songs will stay as they 're essential...Welcome To The JungleIt 's So EasyMr. BrownstoneLive And Let DieKnockin' On Heaven's DoorBetterYou Could Be MineThe BluesNovember RainMy MichelleSweet Child O' MineNightrainIRSPatienceParadise City+ A few more new songs (Totalling about 8-9 new songs)That 's my best assumption
Axls_Disillusion
i would never expect them to drop the hits. Jungle, SCOM, PC, Patience, and NR. To a lesser extent KOHD.i would never expect them to drop Its so easy, mr brownstone, nightrain, or you could be mine. they are all very popular songs with just about every GNR fan. I'd like to see them keep those songs, plus out ta get me and rotate between my michelle and rocket queen or somethin. used to love her was a nice treat on the 17th. They have songs they pick from and songs they always play. That would leave room for a few more songs to be added from the new album. Hopefully they start playing more songs like TWAT and Chinese Democracy I'd really love it if those were in the set list everynight like Better and IRS.but in the end, its an amazing show regardless of the setlist. people who bitch about the setlist might as well not even go, they'd just rather Axl be a recluse in Malibu, I guess. Be happy GNR is even back. We've gone for years at a time with no word on Axl or the band.I think these songs will stay as they 're essential...Welcome To The JungleIt 's So EasyMr. BrownstoneLive And Let DieKnockin' On Heaven's DoorBetterYou Could Be MineThe BluesNovember RainMy MichelleSweet Child O' MineNightrainIRSPatienceParadise City+ A few more new songs (Totalling about 8-9 new songs)That 's my best assumptionyea thats a pretty good assumption. although I think i'd stick madagascar in there too, it was the encore for both vegas shows and it was played at the VMAs.. so its an important song. It all depends on whether there are new songs that would be suited to those positions.instead of PC i think CD would suit it well, the lst lyrics are ''Im outta time'' so it could be in the literal sense.move WTTJ? i have to disagree, it one of their biggest hits and it starts the show the way you want it to continue. i heard people saying L&LD was gonna be the opener on the Euro tour and i just though it would be so out of place. L&LD, ISE, Mr. BS. To me thats not as much of an appealing opening.i hope more of the old songs stay but when UYI was released didnt a lot of AFD songs just dissapear? i could see that happeneing again, only keeping the esentials. in an ideal world they could keep the current setlist and play the new songs aswell, but that would takes hours that they dont have. 11dayempire
I could see them ditching WTTJ in favour of Chinese Democracy as an opener; that "teasing" intro Robin does is very similar. Indeed, I suspect that CD is going to be the opening track on the album.SG
worldwideboss
You can count on Welcome To The Jungle, Sweet Child O' Mine, Nightrain, November Rain, Patience, You Could Be Mine and Paradise City to be played at every show, I think.
