I'll be coming to that show! (asuming I can get my hand on tickets)

I have two questions to ask howevor...

1 - I will have the 12th off between fresno (which im also gonna go to), and I will want to occupy my time.... I was thinking portland would be more exciting to stay, but need to know if theres anything cool to do in portland. I am from Australia (im comin across to see GNR) and i've geographically seen that mt st helens is nearish. Is it worth checking out? if so can it be done in a day? The alternative is spending a day in fresno and getting to yosemite national park (which is equally as attractive atm). Its all down to logistics. But then again GNR might announce a second show in either portland or fresno in which case my decision would be made.

2 - I need accomadation in portland. I want somewhere about half way between the airport and the venue. Cheapest is best. Any recomendations? Is anyone else travelling and want to share accomadation? If locals could recomend that'd be great!

1. There really isn't anything to do in Portland besides going to concerts. We have the biggest book store in the US (I think) and a bunch of porn shops so yeah if you like that then you're set lol we have 1 amusement park but it only has a few rides and it closes early. Mt. St Helens is cool, it has a cave within it that people can go in but you might not want to get near the mountain just in case cause shit happens and it could explode.

2. If I had my own place I would let you stay with me since it's only for a night but unfortunately I live with my mom (I'm 18) Just save up enough money for a discount hotel, there are a bunch of them around and Oregon doesn't have sales tax.

There is plenty to do in Portland. If I was a visitor here just for 1 day, I would hit up all the local breweries. The large national ones and the mom and pops. Lots of good beer in Portland and lots of good food.

I concur. If you dont want to get smashed on a tour of breweries, you can cruise through Portland's distinctive areas... as a college student, I think of places that may not come up in tour guides, but make you know that it is a city with individuality.

It will be a great show. I am stoked... ya front floor tickets
