adnan
This is a song about terrorism and some of the issues in the world today. It's called "Worst Terror I've Ever Seen".I'm playing drums on it. It's written from the point of view of an American citizen for artistic reasons:http://www.yousendit.com/transfer.php?acti...A5911CB36BF3A67The vocals are a little awkward at times- but good. My drum beat is kinda shit. It's a very basic recording. If you guys like it I can upload some more shit.Be kind please... Guest
When listening to this I certainly got a feeling of Spinal Tap's- (Listen to the) Flower People. The singing also reminded me of The Beach Boys. You really sound like you should be in the 60s Meh... it doesn't really do anything for me overall but that's not to say it's bad. It's just a bit plain- it drones on without really going anywhere if you get what I mean. The lyrics sometimes are hard to hear at points. And please- drop the terror-ror-ror-ror-ism You guys recorded anything else? Edited October 1, 2006 by Guest

We play hard rock too, but went for a quiet atmosphere on this session.Meh... it doesn't really do anything for me overall but that's not to say it's bad. And please- drop the terror-ror-ror-ror-ism I questioned that from the start. But we couldn't come up with an alternative and were running out of time. You guys recorded anything else?Yes. I'll upload another song soon. It's even more Beach Boys-ish. I'm playing acoustic rythm guitar on it.Prayer for Peace Edited October 1, 2006 by adnan

Yeah, I thought that was a little wierd too.You guys sound pretty good overrall. The vocals came a little unexpected, like when I heard the beggining I just wouldnt have expected those kind of vocals, but it gelled together a little more as the song went on.But the song kinda drags, it doesnt really progress or anything, a guitar solo or something might keep it interesting. But still, nice job.Prayer for Peace is kinda fruity, no offense Edited October 2, 2006 by sweetness

Guess i'm not enough of a hippie. Props to you guys for singing about something you care about though. That's cool man, that's probably what most people would think. The entire CD is about the Palestinian-Israeli conflict (mostly), so it gets fruity even for me. You guys sound pretty good overrall. The vocals came a little unexpected, like when I heard the beggining I just wouldnt have expected those kind of vocals, but it gelled together a little more as the song went on.Thanks! But the song kinda drags, it doesnt really progress or anything, a guitar solo or something might keep it interesting. When we wrote the song, we wanted to use the guitar in the background, sort of to go with the lyrics. But I sort of started arguing that we should have the solos seperate, not in the background, but then we started running out of studio time (AGAIN!) so we just went ahead with the original method. When we do it live, we'll probably do seperate solos. But still, nice job.Prayer for Peace is kinda fruity, no offenseNone taken ____________________________________________________Seperate question: Do you think that the lyrics went a little far at times for the first song? I wanted to keep it tamer, but hey, I'm not exactly the primary songwriter, so who am I to say right?

Guest Ohdistortedsmile1789
"Worst Terror I've Ever Seen" has an uneasy charm to it, I can't really explain it, but I didn't want to stop it at any point."Prayer For Peace" is just lovely, it was very wise to keep it at a short length. This is the proper way to get a message across, a nice voice will be more readily accepted than something like Sepultura. I like your singer too.Nice work!

darkstar_legend
I don't know what to say. It sounds like something you'd cook up on a lazy Sunday afternoon. Especially the terror-ero-erorism song - damn, that line is so bad, it's what makes the song good. If any of you were to sound any better than you did, it wouldn't sound as great. It's got a neat groove to it, I have to admit.Prayer for Peace? I'll be honest, I'll be the one to cast the first stone if I ever hear someone sing that song. It's not that I don't like the song, I just think any hippie singing that deserves to get a pounding, just for fun.Oh, and don't drop that terror-ero-ero-rism line, or any of it's derivations. Cale is my favorite singer-songwriter, and all his songs sound like they were written on his front porch. About the hippie thing, we don't look it, does that help? So... largely the reaction is positive. Count me as surprised.
adnan
Okay, here's another one, it's about the wall in Israel. Seems like us and Roger Waters are the only people living in North America who still care. In any case I don't really like this one, vocals are awkward, no proper guitar work, and I'm questioning including the Arabic bit at the end...Bridges not WallsBut it's all saved by the line: "Regan was an ass but he said it right". Now you've heard almost all the songs on the disc. The other two aren't very good.

darkstar_legend
The drumming seems really messy with that brigdes not walls song. Still underneath all that, it's still a good song. I've been listening more and more to them recently and I think they've grown on me.Any more songs?
highvoltage
Am I the only person who's had that "Terror-error-error-ism" line stuck in their head for the past few days? It won't go away! It's on a permanent loop in my brain! I hate you adnan!

nameless_girl
Hippies rule!! So many Cartman quotes come to mind... On-topic, these songs were a bit unexpected... I'm not quite sure why, but they're missing a bit of personal flair from you, adnan. Something that would make them distinctly "yours." Most of the other things I wanted to say have aready been mentioned, particularly by darkstar_legend, so I won't get into that. Nice work, though. How many have you recorded by now? Though it'll be even less rock oriented. About the drumming, I'm not the greatest drummer, since it's not my primary instrument, I guess I did the drums since I'm actually a proper band member while we've had a revolving lineup of friends filling in drums. I love them. Great work! Hippies rule!! Thanks. On-topic, these songs were a bit unexpected... I'm not quite sure why, but they're missing a bit of personal flair from you, adnan. How many have you recorded by now? We've recorded 5 songs. They're not supposed to be 'distinctly mine'. I only wrote the guitar on the first track I posted and the drum parts. I have a say in the matters of course, but the tracks aren't mine. So you think any hippie singing should be stoned? In our defence we don't look it.
