this is such a stupid thread, so black and white... i'd say I"m closest to 2. People would lump me in 1, but if the album sucked, I'd say it sucks. I am a hardcore Axl fan no doubt. But if you are a 3, then you really aren't a fan anymore and I think most of those kinds have left these boards. Thats saying no matter how good the album is you hate it cuz its not the original. how closed minded can one get?

Im not in any camp.....

Im here because im a fan of the old band. That means that I support both axl in his work with the new GNR, as well as Slash, Duff, and Matt with VR.

Id love to see the old band back together, but we know that is not going to happen so we have to be pragmatic and support two bands!

I know enough about Chinese Democracy and the NEw GNR to know that Im gonna like it. All of the new songs I like with a few exceptions which probably wont even make the final cut. Since buckethead left, I have been able to embrace this band a little more wholeheartedly. Buckethead kind of made them seem like a bit of a joke.

They are back and axl is cooler than he was in 2002, he can sing better than 2002, and some of those songs like better and there was a time are amazing. It wont be a failure. If it doesn't sell well, I dont care - cos I already know its gonna be good.

Likewise velvet revolver were also cool, and I look forward to their new album. So in away, aside from the fact that theyve not done it together, were kinda gonna have three albums to enjoy, and hopefully more.

I used to be cynical about the whole new gnr thing, and I guess in some ways I am, but I guess a true testament to my feelings now is that I am absolutely wetting my panties over the fact that I am gonna see them for the first time in december. Thats enough for me to say that I gotta stop being hypocritical and get over it - and enjoy axl rose for the legend he is....

i'll be disappointed if the album is bad, but i'm going to give it way more of a chance than i would any other random album. i think Axl deserves that much. alot of the Illusion stuff was wierd to me at first. now i love almost every song from those albums. i think the best music doesn't grab you right away. music that instantly grabs you can sometimes instantly leave you, too. i know in my gut that it's gonna be good. Axl is too fucking brilliant to not put out a smokin' album.

Love the FG reference

if your a number 1 it's just unhealthy, you're obbessed! get a fucking life.

i'm Registered Independant!, if it's good axe man will hear me say it's damn good, if it's crap i'll put my opinion out there, why lie? who am i trying to impress?.

look how many posts you have, you need to get the life. :rofl-lol:

Definitely a 2. Although initially I was very opposed to Axl using the GN'R name when he was the only original member, the new band's performances and material have allowed me to have an open-minded outlook. That being said, if CD blows I will have no problem admitting it. I will suspend judgement untill I hear it.

I do love the Gunners, and pretty much everything they put out, but not everything. I do think that Axl is a musical genious, and I have loved the new songs so far.

Having said that, if an album comes out, if I like it, I like it. I don't care who's singing. If the album is crap, I'll admit it's crap. I don't care if it's Axl or not. This does not mean that I am not a huge fan. I'm not going to listen to crap if it's crap, no matter who it is.
