Zeppelin
"RollingStone.com picked the wrong Tuesday. This rumor is not true." - JarmoWho cares what Jarmo says. Seriously.Agreed, Jarmo is full of shit. Like he really knows for a fact that this isnt the release date. I call bullshit, he just likes to act like he knows all this, when he really doesnt know jack shit. Anyway, I believe this may be the correct release date. It makes perfect sense, and Merck didnt deny it, when everyone knows he is quick to shoot down rumors.Yeah, so do most people on both forums. You just did it yourself. "It makes perfect sense." Yeah, and? Any date after October 20th makes perfect sense.I'm not going to defend Jarmo, but I bet you don't know two shits of what he does know. PS_PoWeR
The 21st sounds about right - if they move quickly, they can still properly promote it.I expect to hear the radio single within a week. I wonder what the song lineup/running order will be? I'm also curious as to how many former members of the band are still on the record."....if they move quickly...." Naupis
What date would be better? How about the 14th. So GNR can open up with the #1 album in the country instead of playing second fiddle to Jay-z's big comeback album he is releasing the 21st. I don't love the guy, but he is gonna move a bazillion albums and be the media darling that week. It would make absolutely no sense to release it on a week where there is an artist of equal or greater stature to compete with when the week prior to has no one of any significance releasing an album. Yay.If you are saying Jarmo is more reliable than RollingStone then you are a moron.Do you even read the news article? RollingStone says, "A friend of ours with a retail source." That means almost nothing. The only reason they didn't laugh at that was because Axl said 2006. Wow, we knew that information already.Jarmo or RollingStone.com. It really doesn't matter. I gave you his quote from HTGTH and that's it. It doesn't mean I think Jarmo's right, I just felt like relaying that quote so you people could do your own cockeyed analysis on it. Instead, you're just kicking my balls because you don't think Jarmo's sources are great or if they even exist.
raspus
this is odd because universal reps have been telling me nov. 14 and thats the date listed on our upcoming new releases bulletin theres no way itll be the 21st that would be the equivalent to having 50 cent and eminem release albums the same daya record label would be stupid to put 2 big releases out the same day

It would be suicide to put Chinese Democracy against Jay-Z's latest "comeback" album.I hope that was a joke....why would it be? jay z is huge. Not in my opinion (key word "opinion"). But honestly, if they actually have time to promote this, and it does get released the same day as Jay Z's album, I have no doubt that it will turn Jay Z's "comeback" into re-retirement. because it's gonna blow him and everything else away in sales. Naupis
why would it be? jay z is huge.Seriously. I think sometimes people need to get off the message boards and get into real world mode. Outside of GNR fantasy land mode Jay-z is currently much more popular and relevant than GNR is in terms of main stream music. Doesn't mean that it's any better than GNR, just more popular in today's climate. It will sell more copies, so it makes sense to avoid releasing an album that same week. the_estranged1
If its true that GNR are releasing the same day as Jay-Z, it'll be interesting to see how it goes. Jay-Z does have a big following but you have to factor in the fact that this album is over a decade in the making, its almost mythic & people who aren't die hard fans will still go out to buy it out of sheer curiosity, then add in the people who grew up on GNR back in 87 plus the current following the band has now with the new line up. It'll certainly give Jay-Z a run for it's money. Also if this is true that its the same release date as Jay-Z, the label must be pretty damn confident that this album has what it takes to blow Jay-Z outta the water & debut at number 1.
