Raw Power
I've just got myself an Marshall too. A Silver Jubilee 2555. Welcome to the Marshall family.
johnezz
Awesome mate.Is it an all Tube amp?You really just can't beat a good Marshall when it comes to growling overdriven tones.I really want to buy a good Fender amp and run it in tandem with my Marshall. Guest Ohdistortedsmile1789
I wouldn't get a Marshall unless it was a stack really. But that could just be the 1969 Super Lead behind me talking. Edited October 18, 2006 by Ohdistortedsmile1789

rufus
congratulations! youve just lost £150!..........and its SS, i dont think there was even a mention of a tube when they built the MG's, in fact i dont think there was even a mention of tone or reliability either
Max™
You'll hate me if I told you I grabbed an all-valve Marshall JCM-2000 DSL-401 for £170.
ssiscool
i'd been using one of these for a while and i get on with them really well. so thats why i bought one. i could have got a 15w stack for £200 but i couldent afford it. but anyway i like it. Chrisi Rokks
Yeah it's just solid state but i used to get a great "slash-esque" tone out of mine. But yeah if you're gonna get an amp get an original JCM800. People say they have crap distortion but i've heard them in a place in Camden screamin an fuck me. They're fuckin awsome
Raw Power
Who has said that JCM800 has crappy distortion? Maybe the best distortion ever! JCM800 is one of the most, maybe the most popular amp beside from Superlead. GREAT Tone.. I like my Silver Jubilee better though.

The last of the regular production all tube marshalls. I love my 800.BTW, for whoever said it earlier.....A JCM2000 is NOT an all valve amp. Op-amp filters, clipping diodes, and tons of other solid state generated distortion tones all over those things. They sound pretty decent though.....unless you've got back to back with something like a 2555.
