The Mighty Dwarf
Hi all,New to the forum. I noticed the good and bad references to the midgets (dwarfs) at the Wembley gigs. I was one of the dwarfs. It was a great experience to stand on stage with such a legendary band whose music was such a big part of my teen years! You might like to check out my site Great things in Small packagesCheersRich rock1

GNR'R
You rock :krider: You say on your site that they had a row? Did you over-hear any of it?
The Mighty Dwarf
You rock :krider: You say on your site that they had a row? Did you over-hear any of it?I was coming off stage and on the way back down the corridor where the dressing rooms are when a door flew open and a guy rushed out knocking me into the wall - maybe a new GNR sport - dwarf bowling? LOL (I think it was either Robin or Ron - all happened a bit quick). He had a bottle of champagne in his hand which he threw at Axl's door. When it didn't break he hurled it at the floor - it still didn't break and rushed past me putting his hand on my shoulder as he went past and back to his room. A security dude picked up the bottle - asked if I was ok and I went to my room a couple of doors down. I turned round before going into my dressing room to see the same band member back out now banging on the door and kicking it. Presumably Axl then let him in and there was a heated argument (couldn't hear any of it unfortunately) All I can presume is that they were pissed off with the fact that Axl had arrived at the last minute and quit the set early??? Not good on the final night of the tour!Any ways - a little anecdote to tell the grandkids one day Thanks for your interest in my thread guysRich
darkstar_legend
Really. That really happened, huh? Na, I wouldn't mind getting knocked down by Robin.

The Mighty Dwarf
Sup buddy. Man I bet you had a good time on stage. Lucky you. Welcome to the forum by the way. Thanks man. It was a blast - chance in a lifetime or what?? Although it nearly never happened. There were some dwarfs and dancers booked for the first Wembley gig and they never got on stage in the end.I was asked to go on the last night along with some of the others from the previous night. We were told all night we 'might be going on' - apparently it was up to Axl. Then right at the last minute - just before Paradise City we were rushed to the stage only to be told 'no go' then half way back to the dressing room they changed their mind and we legged it (as fast as we could) back to the stage and went staight on to do some serious air guitar with the band !!!! rock1 The dancers were told they were not required.Rich rock2
The Sandman
Quick question:Did you get to keep the Gn'R shirts and Union Jack flags?
The Mighty Dwarf
Quick question:Did you get to keep the Gn'R shirts and Union Jack flags?Sure did! I don't think they would have wanted the shirt back as it was really hot and sweaty on stage! Mind you they wouldn't have fitted the average fan that I saw when I popped into the auditorium to watch Sweet Child of Mine - they were all at least twice my size!!!!It's going in with my collection of tshirts from festivals etc.I threw my 2 flags into the audience at the end of Paradise City - not sure how far back they went as you can only see a couple of rows with all the lights.Check out my tattoo (number 3) on my website - just put a picture on my photos page tonight My back TatRich

I had my video camera and a very kind GNR rock chick saw I could not see very well (all I saw was asses ) she gave the camera to her boyfriend and I got some (poorish quality video) - will try and put a link on my website when I upload it if anyone is interested.Rich
