Yay Or Nay?

I really like her, Jagged little pill is one of the best females albums in the music history IMO.

Also the MTV unplugged is one of the best albums, just to chill out and relax...ideal when you are driving in the highway and stuff.

Her music really irritates me. I think what annoys me the most about her is that everyone has this perception of her as some kind of deep, soulful lyricist...

Truth is, and my English teacher picked this apart a few yeaars back, she has absolutely no concept of what irony is. That sounds where she says "Isn't it Ironic?" every other line? When you're listening to it, just answer back "No, its not ironic", because NOTHING IN THAT STUPID SONG IS IRONIC. Its all example of coincidence, bad luck, etc... but in literary terms there is no irony in that song.

well...too sad that you over analyze things...music its about feeling not analyze things...for that we got other things.

And i think that yeah they are ironies over there..."its like meeting the man of your dreams...and met his beautiful wife"...if thats not an irony then what...

and...also who caresss if is it an irony!! :chef:

That's not over analysis. Any half-educated idiot with a decent knowledge of English knows that thats not irony. Meeting that man of your dreams and then his beautiful wife is called bad luck, not irony.

Yes, music is about feelings, but if the woman spends every other line of the song talking about irony then you should expect some irony in the song, but there isn't any. What is ironic? The fact that she has a song named ironic that isn't ironic at all.

"Who cares if it's irony?" But that's the whole point! Alanis even named the song after it, so I think it's safe to assume that she was attempting to create a song at least partially encompassing it. Which she fails at miserably, unless you count the fact that the song's name is ironic considering its content.

Meeting the man of your dreams and seeing he has a beautiful wife is just bad luck, what are you on?

*** Ah, nevermind, Shia0bundan beat me to it.

Who the fuck goes over lyrics tho to see if they are indeed ironic? Seems a little weird to me, You oughta know better :rolleyes:

Umm its not that hard because she sings the lyrics to you, and as you hear them you can tell yourself, "Hey thats not ironic". Its not pretty obvious.

Actually, it is extremely ironic - because the song is called "Ironic" and none of the lyrics are ironic.

So it's pretty Ironic that she called the song Ironic, isn't it?
