Will people please stop posting supposed release dates

When there is a release date we will get it through official channels such as a press release or notice on the official website. I do not claim to understand the purpose behind all the secrecy, but we have been kept in the dark for a long time now for some reason. I suspect it's just stalling because the album is not completely recorded, mixed and mastered but that's another issue. Merck and Axl have repeatedly made vague references that it will be released this year yet refuse to give us a specific date.

Over the past several years there have been numerous supposed release dates given out by record stores, DJ's, various websites, etc. None of these unverified claims have ever proven to be true and there is no reason to believe that they ever will. I do not believe that we will learn the release date from any of these sources, yet people continually post topics about what their local DJ said or what they were told by a record store employee in their area. Not only are these claims never valid but they build up false hope which quickly leads to anger and disgust. There are members here that would love to put your head on a pike for messing with them about this kind of shit. Most of us would kill for a confirmed release date, so do us a favor and stop fucking with us already.

and also please stop this myth about how many tuesdays are left and that its going to be a secret release, because thats not how it works and it wont happen that way, the label/management will announce the date when they finally decide to just release the thing, whenever that is, possibly next year

Well that's the thing, when someone speculates on a release date, unless you are a sadomasochist, you will click on that thread in this forum. I'm not sure how long you have been checking out this forum Gunzen, but this kind of thing has been going on since last year and it's something I'm sure a lot of us are weary of. Speculating on a release date for an album that has been promised for over a decade is just not cool. I understand that we don't need to shoot the messenger, but if the thread titles weren't so damned misleading, maybe there wouldn't be so much anger...

Anyway, with the kind of anticipation and hype for the album right now and the promise of it being released this year, you can imagine the frustration we all feel as each date comes and goes.

Damn, this is either gonna really be the greatest album of all time to us or it is gonna be a bigger dissapointment than when we found out James Hetfield had a vagina. I am hoping for the former.
