In a special edition of NME about 'The Year in News', Guns N' Roses' gig at the Download Festival and Axl's fight with a security guard in Sweden are mentioned.

Guns N' Roses make dodgy live comeback June 7

What Happened: Axl Rose rolls into London town 20 years -- and on the night of the gig, over an hour -- late, looking like Mick Hucknall with a goatee. Everyone goes wild for about five minutes, then the crowd actually get to hear songs from the long overdue album 'Chinese Democracy'.

What Happened Next: Things go from bad to worse during a bottle-hailing performance at the Download Festival a few days later. By the time they reach Sweden, Axl is banged up for allegedly biting a security guard on the leg during a drunken brawl.

What Might Happen in 2007: Axl and Slash put aside their differences and embark on a new era of world domination, only this time with bad hair.

NME 2007 prediction. :)

Lets hope we see that before its a zimmerframe that Slash is holding.

I beleive there wil be a reunion in '08, theres to much money involved to not have one. Thats what Axl is waiting for with this ridiculous joke of Chinese Democracy. Why bother putting out an album when you don't have to.

This article doesn't even deserve comment. Whatever you think of the band now and VR - a reunion will not happen. Axl is making tons of money on this tour. 200,000$ per NIGHT. He's managing to pull in 10,000 fans to a show, give or take (more in places like Chicago, Toronto, New York, Calgary, less in places like Estero, Huntington, etc). There's no financial reason - and no creative reason since they can't seem to work together - for a reunion.

That's a pretty unfair/biased description of what was a fantastic UK and European tour...... NME can fuck off.

200'000$ per night ? If there was a reunion they would be making 1 million $ per night.

Concerning creative reasons, who knows ? Those guys managed to put AFD, Lies, UYI and TSI together. They can do it again.

I watched Gn'R the Paris show from 1992 (around that time) 2 nights ago and the show is possibly one of my favourite Gn'R shows (and better then the Toyko show) and it home (again) just how much Slash was a really important part of Gn'R. I like Robin but Gn'R without Slash is simply not Gn'R. The old Gn'R rocked so much better than the new Gn'R.
