Estranged Reality Posted December 1, 2006 Share Posted December 1, 2006 Fell in love with "Everybody's Talkin'" from MIDNIGHT COWBOY a few years ago, and was surprised to hear all his music is equally superb. He had some big hits like "Without You" (awesome, beautiful song!) but a lot of his less-known stuff is great, too. "Nilsson Schmilsson" is a great record to start with, and "Personal Best" is a great anthology for a brief overview.I like his genre-blending. Some of it is classic rock, some of it is ballad-y, some of it is bluesy, jazzy, etc. etc. etc.He died in 1994 and was bankrupt because his manager stole all his money a few years before his death. People close to him said all the personal stuff he was going through is what affected his health - it was too much for him.
