Slash look-alikes not allowed in nugnr shows

Just read this on another board :

"buddy of mine asked me the other day if i was going to go to the gnr show when it comes to Winnipeg. i said, "Fuck, No"

he then tells me that I wouldn't be allowed in to the show if i went.

I said, "What the fuck you talking about? because i look like Slash?"

his brother worked security when Gnr played in Toronto...and they were told that ANYONE who looked like Slash, wearing a top hat, impersonating Slash, would to have thier ticket taken away and they were to be escorted out of the building. it's actually written into the contract.

i was thinking about going, and wearing my top hat just for shits'n giggles, but then i thought "better" of it.

he got his brother on the phone, and i talked to him about it, he said that guns went on at 20 minutes to 12 and they played with the house lights on the whole set because the city has a by law that any shows, no matter what, the houselight have to be on after midnight, i think it's to discourage shows that go overtime.

and he also told me that axl was having a party back stage, while the people of Toronto were waiting for him, he was playing ping pong, and he wasn't gonna go on until he finished his game. "

Ah more bullshit lies that some security guard that claims to have "insider" info comes out with...

why does that hafta be bullshit? i mean, its not that unfeasible, people have been ejected for wearin slash t shirts before now, for a fact.

I don´t think it´s true. There were a lot of Slash look-alikes at the concerts I attended and they weren´t any problem. You shouldn´t believe everything you read...and even less when it comes from a negative cupcake

Jonah said it's true. It probably depends upon the persons in charge for the security issues at each venue...

Some are cooler than others...

So you don't have problems with Slash look-alikes ? You are a tolerant Axlite, aren't you ? :D

in Halifax the security guard came outside right before doors opened and said no Slash look alikes but noone said anything in Saint John

To me this sounds stupid.

The band keep's playing Slash's material, so why the hell wouldn't they let Slash fan's in?

If this was a fact, ZERO respect towards managment, or anyone ordering this.

Hey people, don't get me wrong. I hope this story is false because otherwise we can say bye-bye to the possibility of a reunion, you know ?

If this story is true it would mean that Axl really hates Slash.

And now he's crowling back to the other side, just like the Mick Wall insect he is. Why don't you go and get a descent job, a job for which you have the appropriate talent.........like sucking cock for $5 a piece.

I was also at the Toronto show. Security on haggled me about my signs I had a Izzy sign. If you had Slash stuff such as a t-shirt they wouldn't allow it. It's a safety issue think about a large portion of people still hate Slash for leaving and security also may have thought it would have aggrovated Axl or started a Fortus Slash debate leading into a fight...

The rules at toronto were no cameras, no signs, no slash look alikes. security came around telling everyone waiting for the floor ticket entrance. as for the house lights being on, NO. They were off the entire night. This post is bullshit.

heard the same thing from a security guard at the ACC show in Toronto. She was talking to another security and I overheard her say the same thing that if any1 that looks like Slash is not allowed in and she said the band had lots of other stipulations such as no tolerance for moshing

Maybe it was security venue and not band´s or management´s decision. Don´t jump into conclusions and give Axl the benefit of the doubt. Think about it, it´s a silly idea and this hasn´t happened before, Gnr have been touring since May and this is the first time we´ve heard something like this. ;)

I don't think so. More like he feels threatened by him...if it's true.

Yeah, sure. When they didn't let Slash himself attend a new gnr show at Las Vegas, the idea probably came from the guys in charge of the security...

When I was at the concert in SF anyone who looked like Fred Astaire (with tophat and cain) was not allowed in the building either. And Axl was backstage playing volleyball and he said he wouldnt go onstage till he spiked it in jakamo's face. rock3
