what a cunt, the kid is 14. shit, kids today start fucking at age 12, and thats no exaggeration. jesus christ, let the kid go, if your scared of him getting a hard on, have him get there after. fuck, i hate people like this.

extreme response dont you think?

Given the age im sure hes seen topless women before whether in magazines or if lucky in real life - but thats hardly the point is it now - this is a burlesque/strip show thats the difference here. As a parent you wouldnt want to start your kid off as being a pervert (even thought he might already be) its a matter of principle.

As far as sheltering too much, thats what parents do. Kids find out that the world as bad soon enough, let them be cocooned a bit longer.

Embarrassing for the kid YES but i guess shes using the paper as a way to inform other parents. Seeing a video here awhile ago with a little kid looking at SG was sickening to me - granted he was alot younger than 14.

So she is okay with him going to a concert where the lead singer sings about drug abuse, fighting with the law, etc, but she is not okay with nudity?

Okay, now this is not a flame but a question. Why is it America is so uptight with nudity, but violence is okay? Now, this isn't meant to spark a pro/anti gun debate or anything political. Just wondering. It just seems to me you are more likely to see a boob in your life over a drug addict or a dead body. It makes no sense.

Oh, I totally agree with you, that is why I put the article here because I found it so absurd I actually laughed out loud and wanted other people's opinion. The backlash this kid will get for years to come by his peers is way worse than seeing a few chocolate covered boobies dance around on a stage.

I think some parents don't always realize the repercussions of their actions when they feel they are trying to do something good for their child.

i dont think its extreme response. to be honest, i think its tame. when i hear about stories like this, it makes me want to smack the bitch for holding her kid back. he is 14 years old. in todays society, its not a bad thing for him to have to see that. but thats beside the point. he could simply just arrive at the show after they are done. sure, the kid will have less enjoyment in his life, but its a lot better that going to the press and saying"my kid is a saint and cant see boobies".

what makes it worse is that she does not seem to care that its GNR. sure, GNR is 100% tamer than it was in say, 1988, but that doesn't mean axl has suddenly become jesus all of a sudden. shit, i bet if she hasn't even bothered to listen to any of the music(which, by my standards, she seems to have no business doing. give the kid fucking space.) god, this kid is a teenager, the hardest time of any persons life, dealing with growing up and all his mother is doing is making it harder, by telling him is is not mature enough to see some chicks tits? the irony is that the kid probably has spent time on porn sites anyway. hell, he's 14.

I completely agree with you, finally someone talking sense!

People keep saying "what about the lyrics?" But that's it, it's just words and maybe shes trying to be a laid back Mom and say hey, he likes GNR, i don't but i'll let him go, then hears about SG....... So I can understand her shock, and as Fridayfan said, i think she's trying to make a point, which i agree with to be honest, age limits are in place for a reason and it's up to the venue to uphold those limits. At the end of the day it's a music concert, not a strip club and whilst some nudity is expected, i'm sure she wasn't expecting that!

He's 14, not 4. I pretty sure he's seen plenty of boobs before.

I know let the kid see some hot chicks shaker their asses. Its not gonna hurt him. He'll be better for it in the long run.

And if the kid has the internet he's already seen thing 1000 times worse, no matter how overprotective his mom tries to be.

Unless he's fat or really ugly, he's probably seen tits in real life.

Look, Motley Crue have HARDCORE PORN on the gigantic screens during "Girls Girls Girls" and nobody cares. 10 minutes of pseudo-stripping isn't any worse.

ugh. Fucking idiot. She's a parent and can raise HER kid the way SHE wants. Who arey ou to judge?

I agree, she wasnt advised that sluts were going to be opening for gnr. sure kids hear a lot of stuff in songs but i think this is just a little too far over the edge for her to be comfortable with. She totally has the right to try and raise her son the best she can, and seeing this stupid shit isnt helping. Most of the great bands dont have this kind of opening..

Not sure why everybody's getting their panties in a twist because this woman spoke out. She has valid concerns. There's a huge difference between a young 14-year old kid seeing nude pictures in a magazine and watching women stripping live in front of him. That's the reason strip clubs have age restrictions. Duh...

I also find the argument about the band's drug/violence inspired lyrics as a really lame argument for condoning live strippers. Again - it all comes down to image versus reality. I mean, singing about Mr. Brownstone is far different from Axl getting onstage and handing out drugs or showing people how to shoot up. Same goes with nude women: It's one thing to sing about strippers - another to actually see them stripping in front of a 14-year old kid.

I just never thought it was a wise idea having strippers open for a rock band. It takes away from the music. jmo.

I can see her point...

but...

GNR go on at like 11:30/12...just show up then? I didn't show up until 10:30 and I walked right up front, about 10 feet from the stage ...I didn't see the Suicide Girls.

Unless she won't let him stay out that late ...which could be possible with this woman.

"Nothing for nothing but that's what you do, turn around bitch I got a use for you!"

"Why don't you just fuck off!"

"Your daddy works in porno now that mommy's not around, she used to love her heroin but now she's underground!"

"Stuck it in the bindle and I shot it in the middle and it, it drove me out of my mind!"

"Fuck"

"Fuckin'"

"Fuck"

"Fuck"

"Ass in the air!"

But don't let him see any boobies! :scared:

Seriously though, I actually agree with what she says. There should be an advisory.

I think the whole idea of having the Suicide Girls open for GN'R is rather lame to be honest. It seems like an attention gimmick and I don't think it's necessary.

But I also think these parents should pay more attention the lyrics of some of the songs being played. And also, Axl swears a lot on stage between songs, whether it be a mini-rant or just talking to the crowd. I think they should take this into consideration along with the Suicide Girls stuff, and not JUST focus on the nudity on stage.

no, its not the same.

axl handing out drugs to the crowd is like the suicide girls having sex with the crowd.

now, axl snorting cocaine or lighting and smoking a blunt, than thats the same as naked chicks running on stage in a rock show.

plus, isnt this the "band" that shows violent images on stage ????

That sucks for the kids who wanted to see GN'R, they should just go to the show later, like at 10 or something

Hey James, I am publically appologizing for my comment in the topic of tickets.com. I made a comment that I would "smack you like the bitch that you are if I were 17". Had I know it wass YOU, I would have kept the comment to myself. SSSSSOOOOORRRRYYYY JIM!!!!

in reality she could have just dropped them off at 11 missing the SG show or made a deal that he had to close his eyes during ther show. Its the idea of it that bugs her. in truth he cood have been way at the back anyway and see less nipple than Lethal Weapon 2 - which he probably seen about 50 times.

You're missing the point.

The woman paid for tickets for her young 14-year old son to see a rock band - not a strip show. I've never heard of a serious rock band hiring strippers to open for them. I think it seriously cheapens the show - and the music. ... Were the strippers aimed at attracting horny prepubescent teenagers into their shows? If so, I think it backfired - judging from this mother's reaction. .. Sorry, but I just never thought it was wise bringing in strippers as an opening act.
