Conspiracy theory...

This is really stupid, so it should blend perfectly fine into this section..

I touted a long time ago that maybe the album isn't called "Chinese Democracy"..we only ASSUME so, don't we? Really?

Of course, it's quite unlikely, but not impossible is it now?

"Are you stupid", you say. "Chinese Democracy tour is the proof."

How about the "Get in the ring Tour" in the Illusion era?

IF I'M RIGHT, which I'm most probably not, this could explain why "Chinese Democracy" doesn't turn up in various databases or retailer searches..

It's actually quite funny how some of you guys twist and turn everything to make a sensational post, and yet, this very subject is almost non-existent.

Again, this is just a thought..

That does seem to be the trend here over the course of the past couple of months.

My conspiracy theory is not really related but I'll share it anyway:

There is no 'official' album at all...I believe there was going to be at some point, perhaps 6-7 years ago when it was first named CD, but it began falling apart due to whatever reasons. Fast forward to 2006, nearly 10 years after this epic journey began, and there is nothing to show for it save for the 6-7 songs we've heard/been leaked and perhaps a bunch of sheet music and scribbled lyrics resting somewhere in Axl's Hollywood Hills Estate.

So while I do believe the intent was for Axl to go with CD from start to finish, it has petered out (for reasons that I do not wish to speculate on, because it is not real relevant) and is now clinging to its last 'somewhat official days' via a few tracks being played on the current tour. Before too long, it will be officially dead from a release and record label point of view and we will hear of some MAJOR changes, perhaps even the disbanding of current 'GnR'. I really think Axl is delaying the inevitable at this point. However, he must have a contract to finish out the tour dates, but when this leg is over, it should be real interesting.

I'm only saying this because you said it first. But I think it's possible too. In fact, Kurt Loder, or that other well known guy from MTV, even referred to it at one time as "....tentatively titled 'Chinese Democracy.'"

And that was fairly recent too. If anyone has the time, maybe they can find that MTV quote, check every "quoted" word from Axl and Merck since then, and try to see if there might be something to this theory.

Example, if a reporter asks, "When is ChinDem coming out?," and the answer is "soon" or "before the end of the year," this doesn't mean it's a confirmation of the title. Or if Merck or Axl say, "The new album wil be out...," that's ALSO not a confirmation of the name.

Of course rather than anyone practice good research here, I fully expect us both to be flamed all to hell. So just refer to my sig if anyone plans on flaming.

perhaps the record company will drop the band & take rose to the cleaners, as discussed in a thread deleted the other day

Although that would usually be a realistic possibility, there's something about Axl's contract that has nothing to do with Universal. Axl's contract, I'm pretty sure, is a collection of documents carried over from Geffen.... every word of which HAS to be honered by Universal as part of the buy-out deal.

Geffen? Well that's where things get weird. David Geffen was NOT your average record company owner. And something tells me that Axl has an open-ended contract and actually DOESN'T have to deliver a new album by any kind of dealine date.

At the same time, I DON'T think he has an endless pot to take money from. I think a portion of the money spent on the "new album" is coming from his own pocket. Never forget, AFD and UYI sell millions of copies a year. It's such silly money that even a CRACK HEAD probably couldn't spend it all without killing himself first. And we all know that Axl doesn't smoke crack, so....

I've thought that the title may have changed. Notice, NONE of the new merch on this tour says Chinese Democracy. Axl just refers to it as "the new album", when he can be bothered to talk about it that is.

I think it'd be sweet if the album is something completely different and Chinese Democracy comes as the special bonus disc with it. Very doubtful, but i think it'd be cool as hell.

maybe he's not calling it chinese democracy because that was supposed to be the old band's new album. maybe he doesnt feel right calling it that without the same supporting cast. im sure he has a conscience. wasn't it said that they have "lost" material? potentially this is what we could get way down the line after its all said and done. I do think whatever he does release will be successful, true fans of music would buy it for just that, the music. no matter what its called or who its by. but as to when its released, all we need is a little patience.

No wonder you feel right at home :fuckyou:

On topic, we are not assuming the name is chinese democracy, it's a known fact that Chinese Democracy is the name of GNR's next album. It's come from Axl, Merck, and pretty much the entire GNR camp.

And even is C D wasn;t the name, you're right it wouldn't appear on any computer...but... Guns N' Roses would

1: You must be pretty damn good to have memorized every credible quote, word for word, to know for certain that Axl is referring to the new album as "Chinese Democracy." Truth is, the MEDIA has called it ChinDem more than Axl, Merck or any band member, which is why everyone thinks it's the title. I'm not saying it ISN'T the title. Just trying to explain where we're coming from, and I don't think you're on the same level. In fact, go here and bring back a quote of Axl or Merck calling it ChinDem.

2: Most people are lazy. Very few people here are typing JUST "Guns N' Roses" into search fields at web sites and going through every frigin' album title and tribute bullshit to make sure it's not listed under something else. I myself have only done it once or twice out of curiosity. Have you? Care to sort through it? Go ahead... there's only 148 of them....

Amzon Dot Spank

...and people at record stores are asking for "Chinese Democracy." The store employees get a similar bullshit list as that link if they ONLY type "Guns n' Roses."

Again, I'm not saying it isn't the title. We're just trying to have an intelligent conversation here, and I don't think you're really trying... as you might see this as some crazy conspiracy theory. So bring back an Axl or Merck quote from the news section if it's so open-and-shut.
