Taking bets on what comes out first: Libertad or Chinese Democracy

Velvet Revolver will release their second album by May, 2007 - and Guns n' Roses (Axl and The Junkyard Gang) will NOT release shit in 2007.

Scott Weiland is a complete mess - but Axl is worse in so many ways at this point. No band has let me down like Guns n' Roses - man, I loved them and what the name Guns n' Roses USED To stand for.

So, here it is: Who thinks that Velvet Revolver will have their second album in three years out by mid-2007, while Guns n' Roses will still not release their new album after a wait of 16 years for new material? (Spaghetti Incident was a covers album).

The problem is that the anticipation on Chinese Democracy, after all this time, is so unreleasistic that if it fell short of "Appetite", or even Pink Floyd's "The Wall" or The Beatles "Sgt.Pepper", then people will say that it sucks. Axl has really brought this too far - and we have all heard the leaked tracks: and let's be HONEST - it's "OK". I personally don't like hearing drum machines on GNR songs.

STP is probably my 2nd fav band behind GnR and I remember what it was like to wait for years between albums, and wondering if and when the guys would tour. Now that Weiland has his ass in gear , he will not only be releasing a new VR album, but a second solo album as well.

I never understood that why it is so cool to hate VR/Old GnR band members. I don't know if people on here think it makes them more of a New Guns fan to bash Slash,Duff etc but I am not for that. Radical concept here, and hold onto your socks folks, but *GASP*SHOCK*HORROR* it is possible to like both bands.

That being said I will say Chi Dem has to be out before Libertad. I hope anyway.

It's not acceptable to hate on old band members but it's perfectly fine to bitch about the new ones.... I sure see a lot of people doing that. Neither's right. Old members wrote the songs, for that they deserve credit, they made Guns what they are today. The new guys play in the band now, they deserve support too.

Here's the difference between GN'R and Velvet Revolver:

I don't know

Because she says so

He's a hooray for tolerance! boy

The TV says so

He's a junkie piece of shit because he says so

All that first-class jet set brings me down, down, down

All that first-class drug shit brings me down, down, down

It's a big machine, it's a big machine

We're all slaves to a big machine

It's a big machine, it's a big machine

We're all slaves to a big machine

All tied up to a big machine

I got houses

Got cars

I got a wife

I got kids

Got money in the bank

Get away without borders

I'm a slave, New World Order

I guess I chose to be

I guess I chose to be

I guess I chose to be

I guess I chose to be

Hope I teach my son how to be a man

Now before he hits 35

Comic book lives don't really have any real life do they now

With these standards, they should be releasing new material every season.

Yeah, really.

Well it’s true... ooh

I had

My doubts of you

Gonna call the President

Gonna call myself a Private Eye

Gonna get the I.R.S.

Gonna need the F.B.I.

Gonna make this a federal case

Gonna wave it right down in your face

Read it daily with your morning news

With a sweet hangover, and the headlines true now

I feel your doing this all for my health

I should've looked again then at somebody else

Feel like I done way more than wrong

Feelin' like I never gonna get ya outta this song

Feelin like I'm just too tired to care

Feelin like I done more than my share

Could it be the weight that I've carried on

Like a broken record for so long

And I do

Ooh, oh

I'm gonna call the President,

I'm gonna call a private eye

Gonna get the I.R.S.,

Gonna need myself the F.B.I.

Ooh, what shall I do

If I gave my heart to you

It's such a crime you know it’s true

Gonna call the president

Gonna get myself a private eye

Gonna need the I.R.S.

Gonna get the F.B.I.

Gonna make it a federal case

Gonna wave it right down in your face

Read it daily with your morning news

With a sweet hangover, and the headlines true

There's not anymore that I can do

NOTE: I love IRS, I think it's a cool song. But I also think VR is very cool. You can't be selective with lyrics to suit an agenda. Axl was also responsible for Get in the Ring and My World, both songs of which have worse lyrics than any VR song.

It's not called bitching. It's constructive criticism. People turn it into a bitch fest with responses like "fuck off".

But on topic, I will say that I hope CD comes out first. Afterall, both Axl and Merck said this year, and Libertad isn't due out until next year.

The problem is that the anticipation on Chinese Democracy, after all this time, is so unreleasistic that if it fell short of "Appetite", or even Pink Floyd's "The Wall" or The Beatles "Sgt.Pepper", then people will say that it sucks.

There's a lot of anticipation on GNR boards. The rest of the world doesn't really care about CD.

To me these two albums are on opposite ends of the spectrum. In one corner you have the overthought constantly delayed chinese democracy because of axl's perfectionism and whatever else eats him up. Than you have stanky revolver who just want to put out whatever crap they can to rake in a few dollars. They just started recording and the album is coming out within months, that has crap written all over it.

so what comes out first...i sure hope it is Chinese because if it doesn't come out in 06 i will never believe another word from the gnr camp until i actually see it on the shelves.

I can't believe how dilusional you people are, Chinese Democracy will not be coming out anytime soon. It's a joke, and the joke is on all of you. And if you think there isn't a song on Contraband that is better than IRS than you are absolutely insane. It's cool to bash other bands and all but VR actually does have some good tunes. The ones posted are the lowest on the quality scale as far as I'm concerned.

Libertad will definitely be out before Chinese Democracy, no doubt about it. How can any sane person think otherwise?
