Graeme
Hey, saw Iron Maiden last night in the SECC. They were supported by Bassist Steve Harris's daughter Lauren and Trivium. LH was quite good, not much variety in the way she sang her songs, all seemed very high pitched and loud rather than any variety. Trivium were fantastic, i didn't actually like them all that much before i went to the gig but their performance was incredible, intricate intricate and powerful guitar parts, the circle pits and bouncing they got during Pull Harder and A Gunshot to the Head of Trepidation respectively were incredible. Maiden played the full of the new album, A matter of life and death, highlights being Different worlds and brighter than 1000 suns. The whole band was on form, Bruce was fantastic, really chatty and charismatic and the stage setup was amazing, giant mechanical tank and eddie . They then played classics including Fear of the Dark, Iron Maiden, 2 minutes to midnight, the Evil that men do and Hallowed be thy name before leaving. The whole performance was amazing but i have to say I was gutted with the lack of Run to the Hills and Number of the Beast, the two songs i was most looking forward to. Do Maiden usually not play these or something?
moreblack
They've played them on almost every tour since they wrote them...If you ask me it was about time they got dropped.
rQueen
I've been to 5 Maiden gigs all from past tours and I gotta say that they used to play more old songs and among them Run to the Hills and the Number of the beast. Their new album is really great but I'd like to hear some of their classics again. The band might be tired of performing 1 million times some of the old songs. So I guess their current set is better than to see them bored to perform on stage.
The Third Man
Saw them in Cardiff on the 11th, and it was the greatest show I've ever seen by any band. The new album went down great, except for when Bruce announced they were playing the whole thing and a single bloke down the front booed, to which Bruce said "I'll fucking butt you" Fantastic gig. One of the great live bands that everyone has to go see at some point

Although Isis and Opeth could also run for that title..

Although it was a weird set list it was cool because it was completely different to the last time i saw them (on the first four albums tour). It was worth just to hear The Evil That Men Do. I fucking love that song.
Ridin' the Nightrain
I love the fact they played the whole new album. They played enough classics so that it pleased the fans, but at the same time it showed they were very confident and proud about their new material (as they sould be)Axl could learn a lot from them. Iceman24
I bothers me they had to play EVERY DAMN NEW song. Theyr not even very good.I really liked it, that they played the whole new album, because it's amazing, maybe their best album. And I also thought, it was cool, that they didn't play Run To The hills and Number Of The Beast, because I don't really like these songs. By the way, I also wrote a review of a Maiden show: http://www.mygnrforum.com/index.php?showto...5&hl=maiden

kevdo242
For me, as long as they play Fear Of The Dark and Hallowed Be Thy Name, I'm happy. I've seen the others played live last time. And now, I've seen more or less all the Maiden songs I've wanted to hear live.
Martoine
i just like the way people criticise GN'R for playing mainly old songs and noone complains bout Maiden...they are playing the new songs and not being a nostaligia act relying in 3 or 4 songs to get a crowd... moreblack
I don't get what the big deal is of them not playing those old songs. You've had 20 plus years to go to a show where most likely, they've played them. Even last year all thru Europe and in North America they played nothing but old stuff from the first 4 albums. If you wanted to hear 666, Hills, or The Trooper, you should've gone to see them last year. This tour is about the new album.
