axlslash Posted December 19, 2006 Posted December 19, 2006 Jack White is a god. Period. The more I listen to this band, the more I love them. They're like the White Stipes with even more emotion and some tallent in the rythm section. I give you: The Raconteurs Quote
Ridin' the Nightrain Posted December 19, 2006 Posted December 19, 2006 (edited) If Jack (or Meg) White by some small miracle managed to get even more talentless he'd cease to exist. Edited December 19, 2006 by Slash's Appetite Quote
motownjunkie Posted December 19, 2006 Posted December 19, 2006 (edited) edit: *its a nancy sinatra cover* ....doubt they'll record it if thats the case unless they get permissionWOW! that would have been perfect for the Casino Royal Bond ThemeIs there are a studio recording of this?also "Hands" is a great song Edited December 19, 2006 by motownjunkie Quote
axlslash Posted December 19, 2006 Author Posted December 19, 2006 If Jack (or Meg) White by some small miracle managed to get even more talentless he'd cease to exist.Meg yes. Jack isn't talentless at all. He's a brilliant songwriter, a wonderful performer, and may have the most unique voice this side of Bob Dylan. He'e the perfect combination of Eddie Vedder, Bob Dylan, and the Grim Reaper in my oppinion: Bob's musicianship and uniqueness of voice, Eddie's grunge attitude and sound, and the Reaper's horrifically white complexion. If I didn't already have plans, I'd totally go to their NYE show in Chicago. They are a SICK fucking band. Head over to www.DimeADozen.org and download a show or two. They are absolutely astounding live. Quote
FunkyMonk Posted December 19, 2006 Posted December 19, 2006 Yeah I agree. I love the White Stripes, but I've never heard any of the The Raconteurs.... Quote
eschman Posted December 19, 2006 Posted December 19, 2006 Great musician and much more interesting than 99 percent of what's out there now. Quote
axlslash Posted December 19, 2006 Author Posted December 19, 2006 Yeah I agree. I love the White Stripes, but I've never heard any of the The Raconteurs....It's the power and emotion of the Stripes with better musicians. Meg is replaced by a drummer and bassist who can actually play (and extraordinarily well at that), and a lead guitarist is added. The video I posted is one of the best vids of them I've seen. They're deefinetly worth checkin out. Quote
gina9 Posted December 19, 2006 Posted December 19, 2006 Never heard of them till now. Oh, wait, I just saw the song steady as she goes is theirs, like this song You are right, they are very good, but not the No1 rock band today Quote

kevdo242 Posted December 19, 2006 Posted December 19, 2006 Nah, he's right.Store Bought Bones live is amazing. I got their Electric Proms set, and its great. Quote
Streetchild Posted December 19, 2006 Posted December 19, 2006 I prefer the Raconteurs over the White Stripes, who I also love. Both great bands. Thanks for the video. 've been looking for a good version of this song since I heard them play it live. Jack White is great at covers. He also did a great version of "Jolene" with the White Stripes. Quote

His lyrics are amazing, he has the attitude......I see nothing wrong with what I said. And streetchild, I suggest you check out the White Stripes' cover of Bob Dylan's Lovesick. I don't usually like Dylan covers better than the original, but this is a clear exception.http://youtube.com/watch?v=Z1CmZ2adpnk Edited December 19, 2006 by axlslash Quote

axlslash Posted December 20, 2006 Author Posted December 20, 2006 To his credit, Meg is pretty shitty. Jack just has enough talent for a whole band, so it's all good. Quote
