guns n roses vs metallica

I saw them in September 1992. James Hetfield still had the bandage on his arm/hand, so the guitar player from Metal Church played. It was weird to see Hetfield walking around the stage carrying a mic and no guitar. However, during "Enter Sandman", when the lights came up, he was playing guitar and the crowd went nuts.

Guns were great as well, played a full set and Axl didn't leave early.

I think both bands were on top of their game for that show. JMO.

PS: Body Count opened up, and they were pretty good, no really, I'm serious.

Was that show at the Horizon in Chicago? I was supposed to go, but my parents wouldn't let me. It sucked becuase the last time they were supposed to be there was the cancelled World Music Theater show. I was cursed to not see GnR during my high school years, I think.

It's a moot question for me, cuz James isn't a very good singer, so I can't envision Metallica being better than GnR live. When I saw them in Anchorage, Metallica was pretty ho hum live.

GNR, Metallica, Nirvana and U2. They ruled the world in 1992.

Who was better ? Each to his own.

I believe Pearl Jam ruled the world in that time and lost it after '93 after they became almost totally Mtv uncommercial

I agree, at least thats how i remember it. Pearl Jam were way bigger than nirvana anyway, before kurt killed himself anyway.

In the USA, Pearl Jam were slightly bigger than Nirvana. In Europe, Nirvana were bigger.
