Ace Spade
Sorry if this is a stupid question, but I don't know jack shit about computers...I received a message from my firewall saying an "intruder" was trying to access my computer.Does this mean that someone was trying to fuck with me, or could it mean any number of things?I got an IP address..should I track them down and kill them? ssiscool
it means someone was trying to access your computer, if you hadent had a firewall on the person entering could have been able to read everything on your computer the best thing to do is keep hold of the I.P. address and if it happens again take it to the police
Ace Spade
Thanks ssiscool.Do you have any idea how or why someone would do that?I traced the IP to a place in Kentucky, I have no ties to anyone there.Would it have to have been someone who knows me, or is this a random kind of thing? vicious
most likely a random thing. i'd take it to the police if i were you, had that fucker gotten into your PC he wouldn't think twice before fucking you in the ass. and if he knew what he was doing he'd have blocked his IP
Ace Spade
Are you certain that it's serious enough call the cops?Couldn't there be another explanation other then an attempted "hacking"?If so, instead of calling the cops, maybe one of you guys knows a way I can get revenge from my computer? The Sandman
You could hack him back - although that's illegal - and not suggested - because chances are, he could do it back worse. It happens frequently to most people - I wouldn't bother the police. Chances are it is a proxy anyway. Just report it to your ISP I guess.
