You could use ffmpegx which is a freebie download for converting all sorts of Mac video files.

You can set it up to output in .mp3 .aac or what have you. Takes a bit of getting used to mind but it'll do everything you need to do.

Alternatively just shell out the £20 for Quicktime Pro.
